Battery Reserve Project Manager/Engineer/Test to join the team with Oceaneering, a teammate company.

The
Battery Reserve Project Manager/Engineer/Test will:
This position is for a Project and Test Engineer with some Project Management tasking with the EP5 Power Systems Branch Battery Team. This team evaluates candidate battery cells and battery pack designs for use in the space environment. This is a relatively small team that works closely together. The EP5 Battery Team is responsible for crafting Battery Safety requirements and evaluation methods, as well as coordinating with NASA programs and industry partners to provide guidance and assistance upon request. This position will entail a suite of tasks including test development and planning, test hardware design, modeling and procurement, cell screening, Class I hardware upgrades, test unit build up, customer hardware delivery, battery physical and electrical assessment, and more. Travel may be required for up to 10%, which includes international travel.
Requisition Qualifications:This position has been posted at multiple levels. Depending on the candidate's experience, requirements, and business needs, we reserve the right to consider candidates at any level for which this position has been advertised.
- Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in Engineering and a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
- Familiarity with Battery and testing fixture design and operation
- Familiarity with Li-Ion battery cells, battery packs, their testing modes, and their failure methods.
- Proactively and unsolicited, be able to present innovative ideas for efficiency, cost savings, safety and other beneficial ideas to the customer
- Proficient in generating clear and concise project schedules and cost estimates including the development of execution plan
- Capable of identifying and communicating risks on cost, schedule, technical content
- Ability to influentially lead team with 'One NASA' approach
- Have experience following Work Instructions/Procedures to conduct a specific task/test
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. for a short distance.
- The candidate must possess, or be able to obtain within a reasonable time, a passport for internation travel.
- Show strong communication skills, both verbally and written
Requisition Preferences: - Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited school (Aerospace, Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical) plus 5 to 10 years' experience, or a master's degree in aerospace, Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years' experience.
- Driven work ethic and proactively complete moderate tasks with minimal oversight
- Creo experience
- Work history of attending and presenting test findings at a conference
- Experience with JSCs Hardware Quality Classifications (Class I / Class III)
- Experience writing Task Performance Sheets (TPS)
- Ability to communicate professionally with internal and external customers to understand and deliver on customer needs

Essential FunctionsWork EnvironmentGenerally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.
Physical RequirementsWork may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).

AttendanceRegular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
