Amentum is seeking a Business Analyst to join our team of passionate individuals in Washington, DC. In this role you will support challenging, mission-critical projects that make a direct impact on the Nation’s security and intelligence mission.
As a Top Secret cleared Business Analyst for this program, you will be working in an organization that’s mission is to develop and operate the best possible software for critical national security enterprise applications. This organization leverages SCRUM and SAFE Agile software development methodology and strong Dev Ops practices.
You will collect, capture, and manage mission user needs from prioritization through concept development, and user story writing to support development and deployment. You will work with a fully integrated software development team practicing Agile software development to include software architects, software engineers, cloud engineers, test engineers and help desk specialists. This position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to consult on complex projects while considering the business implications of technology decisions to the current and future business environment.
Responsibilities:
Lead collection, capture, and management of mission user needs from prioritization through concept development, and user story writing to support development and deployment. Facilitate the gathering of business focused requirements to support a product team and product owner in defining the backlog and ensuring the users perspective is considered. Focus requirements gathering on improved usability, user experience, and driving user adoption and engagement. Identify core business needs and decompose and document in concepts of operation, story maps, briefings, and user stories; document business rules and construct workflow diagrams as needed. Provide consultation on complex projects while considering the business implications of the application of technology to the current and future business environment. Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires intermediate analytical and quantitative skills.
Possesses and applies a comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments. Plans and leads major technology assignments. Evaluates performance results and recommends major changes affecting short-term project growth and success. Functions as a technical expert across multiple project assignments. May supervise others. Minimum of 8 years’ experience recommended. In absence of years of experience, certifications or past work may be used to show the level of experience needed to perform at this level.
A typical day in the life on this program involves:
• Participating and leading Agile ceremonies
• Lead requirements gathering from stakeholders
• Documenting detailed requirements and workflows to provide clear guidance to the software development team
• Manage, respond to, and prioritize user tickets, collaborating with the technical team and leadership to ensure timely resolution of key issues
• Prioritize and manage the product backlog by working with developers and stakeholders to ensure the most valuable features are clearly defined and addressed in each sprint

Minimum Education:
• Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Business or other related field.
• In absence of degree, additional years of experience may be substituted for educational requirements
Minimum Years of Experience:
• Minimum of 10 years of experience with 6 years of related technical specialized experience
Preferred:
• Agile and or/SAFE certifications; Cloud certifications
• Experience with Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence, etc.)
• Experience with SAFE Agile Principles

The base salary range for this position is $175K to $180K. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
