Responsibilities

  • The Cartographer will create professional finished intelligence cartographic products to convey complex subject matters to diverse audiences. 
  • Manage complex and demanding cartographic projects; communicate directly with customers; facilitate design conceptualization and brainstorming sessions. 
  • Identify and clarify customer expectations for content and style; develop production timelines; plan, coordinate, research, design, and develop cartographic products.
  • Ensure quality control and map usability, delivery and archival of final products to include conformity to production standards and compliance with processes and procedures, including copyright laws, internal workflow procedures, and established production standards.

Qualifications

  • Requires BA/BS and 3+ years of experience or no degree and 9+ years of experience
  • TS/SCI with Poly level clearance is required
  • Experience applying cartographic design principles, including color and theory, map projections, thematic and statistical mapping, topographic and reference mapping, display hierarchies, topography, and data generation.
  • Proficiency in tools like Illustrator is required
  • Experience using cartographic data visualization techniques required.
  • Experience with map-related Java Script libraries is desired.
  • Experience with Esri's ArcMap, Avenza's Map publisher, QGIS, and Adobe Creative Suite required.
