We have an exciting opportunity for a CCP GN&C Oversight Engineer to join our team with the Engineering Division.

This is a remote - temporary role not to exceed 7 weeks.

The CCP GN&C Oversight Engineer will:

  • Participate in Flight Readiness GN&C Reviews
  • Perform interface management and coordination duties
  • Assist in coordinating GN&C task priorities
  • Evaluate flight-critical software and review verification evidence materials
  • Support Deep Dive and Anomaly resolution teams as needed
  • Perform other duties as required


Requisition Qualifications:



    This position has been posted at multiple levels. Depending on the candidate's experience, requirements, and business needs, we reserve the right to consider candidates at any level for which this position has been advertised.

    • Typically requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in Engineering and may be expected to have a related master's or higher degree and normally possess 15+ years of related experience
    • Experience with safety critical human rated GN&C flight systems requirements
    • Understanding of entry, descent, landing GN&C principles
    • Knowledge of human rated space vehicle development and operations
    • Experience with the development of space systems requirements and documents
    • Knowledge of GNC algorithms and analyzing system performance for spacecraft
    • Familiar with Commercial Crew Program and ISS interfaces, interactions, and operations
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment consisting of NASA civil servants and various contractor employees


    Requisition Preferences:

    • Requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering and normally possess 15+ years of related experience
    • Software project management experience
    • Experience developing GN&C Flight Software Requirements
    • Experience in the following flight software specialty areas:
    • Software process and procedure development
    • Software Integration and Build Management
    • Experience with Safety and flight critical embedded software development

    Essential Functions

    Work Environment

    Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.

    Physical Requirements

    Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).

    Equipment and Machines

    Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).

    Attendance

    Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.

    Other Essential Functions

    Professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.
