Amentum is currently seeking a Cloud Ops/Platform Engineer as part of a team that delivers Cloud Development Tools to the entire enterprise. The team is fully cloud-based and focuses on the automation of all tasks utilizing a fully implemented CI/CD pipeline. This pipeline includes an automated transfer of data/projects to multiple domains via a cross-domain solution. The team utilizes agile methodologies to plan projects and tasks and break them down into 2-week sprints. The team is made up of cloud engineers and developers working closely together to complete projects. We are looking for engineers/developers that want to implement and learn cutting-edge cloud technologies and services to support our customer and their multiple national security missions. The team supports both AWS and Azure Cloud environments. The Cloud Ops/Platform Engineer will focus on administrating, maintaining and upgrading and enterprise wide developer services.
This position is a hybrid position with two days onsite at our customer’s location in the District of Columbia and allows for 3 days a week of remote work. Additional onsite days are only required based on mission need.

Here’s What You’ll Need:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or other related analytical, scientific, or technical discipline
• Minimum 5 years of work experience
• Minimum 3 years of experience performing development and deployment activities on a private/public cloud solution or a comparable high availability environment.
• An Associate level DEVOPS cert is suitable for 3 years cloud development experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or other related analytical, scientific, or technical discipline
• Experience in Splunk Administration in a distributed environment
• Experience with AWS EC2, Lambda, SQS, and SNS services
• Experience with Azure Event Hubs and Function Apps
• Experience with DevOps practices
• Experience using Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation and Terraform)
• Experience with GitLab, or other Git-based platform
• CI/CD experience with GitLab Runner, Jenkins, or similar technology
• Proficiency in Python
Preferred:
• Experience with Docker containers
• Kubernetes experience (EKS or other variants)
• Experience with Hashicorp Packer, Consul, or Vault
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
