For the APP lab technician positions we are looking for people that want to get their hands dirty and take an active role in deconstructing electronic components. The ideal candidate must be able to think in three dimensions and can translate hands on experience to find technological solutions to improve processes and procedures. The candidate will support development by designing fixtures, software, and/or non-traditional techniques. This candidate could be an engineering technician with microelectronics knowledge/experience or electrical engineering technology (EE-T).

Required Qualifications:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology; In lieu of a degree, must have at least two (2) years of experience with microelectronics
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Security Clearance. Please note US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.
• Interest and ability in fine, detailed work (look for hobbies/work experience that include detailed hands-on type work such as: model making, automotive work, electronics, restoration work, carpentry, etc.)
• Demonstrated capability to learn through hands on training.
• Applied knowledge of geometry and algebra for physical applications
• Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Hands-on experience with handling and machining small parts, such as microelectronics
• Understands/utilizes laboratory safety practices, including chemical safety
• Strong verbal and written communication
• Ability to engage on a multidisciplinary team of technicians, scientists and engineers
• Ability to identify and support opportunities for process improvements through fixture design and integrating new techniques

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active Secret Clearance
• Experience in laboratory environments, including operation of microscopes and other analytical equipment
• Basic knowledge of microelectronic construction and materials.
• Basic knowledge of techniques for failure or material analysis of microelectronics
• Working knowledge of CAD software
• Working knowledge for microcontroller programming
