Amentum is seeking an Electronics Technician III/Range Systems to support the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) Mission in Andros Island, Bahamas. AUTEC is a Major Range and Test Facility Base (MRTFB) and the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport's largest single team project, providing both deep and shallow water test and training environments. This position requires the individual to be eligible to obtain a US Government Secret security clearance; US citizenship is required. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate and Maintain Range Instrumentation Systems: data link systems, radar systems, computer-controlled consoles, displays, RF systems, tower mounted equipment, range instrumentation, fiber optics and other equipment.
  • Utilize test equipment to certify operation and troubleshoot systems.
  • Applies technical knowledge to perform duties through the use of manufacturer manuals, technical orders, regulations, COTS publications and other written documentation.
  • Provides technical guidance and training to personnel.
  • Initiates, edits technical documentation and drawings to reflect modifications and configuration changes.
  • Overtime and weekend work may be required in support of fleet objectives and range schedules.
  • May occasionally ride range vessels in support of mission objectives.   
  • Performs other duties and related tasks as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, associate's degree in Electronics Technology, or similar discipline with at least five years of job-related experience.
  • Military and/or technical rating/certification with similar systems, with 5+ years of job-related experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills.  Fluent in English. 
  • Must be able to climb multiple flights of stairs.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds of equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand schematics and drawings.
  • Must be able to reside in remote location with limited medical facilities. 
  • Valid US passport and driver's license will be required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active U.S. DoD Secret Clearance preferred.
  • Previous military and/or test range experience with training in the operation and maintenance of underwater acoustic systems is preferred.
  • Knowledge of UNIX/Linux and Windows operating systems and MS Office products. Experience with maintenance of DGPS, RADAR and/or SONAR systems, analog and digital RF transmitter/receiver circuits, displays, analog and digital encoders, RF system alignments, troubleshooting and fault isolation desired.
  • Experience with electronics test equipment including: DVMs, TDRs, Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Frequency Counters, Signal Generators.
  • Good communication and analytical skills.

       

Compensation Details:

$30.00
