Amentum is seeking a motivated Financial Analyst (FA) to join our team in Alexandria, VA.  The FA will manage all financial aspects for multiple government-facing contracts, which will include budgeting, forecasting, project controls and financial reporting. Further, the FA will be responsible for tracking and reporting of the Business Unit’s Overhead expenditures and forecasts.  This is an on-site role (Alexandria, VA) with the possibility of working remotely 1 day a week.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize familiarity with financial management, budgeting, project control, financial reporting and basic contract administration in a government services contract environment.

  • Ensure program costs are collected correctly by maintaining active charge numbers, monitoring actual charges, and processing transfers when appropriate.

  • Measure performance against established budgets and analyze variances.

  • Monitor funding status, providing reliable and timely notification of funding status.

  • Attend and present at weekly contract financial meetings.

  • Prepare financial Contract Data Requirements (CDRL) for programs.

  • Ensure contractual requirements are met, and Customer financial deliverables are accurate and on time.

  • Review and approve invoices for submission to the customer.

  • Monitor billing status and unbilled issues, work to resolve issues in a timely manner to manage DSO.

  • Participate in Weekly/Monthly Program Reviews with customers and/or internal Amentum offices.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Due to the nature of the work, the candidate must be a U.S. citizen.

  • 3+ years of relevant experience with Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field; 0-2 years of relevant experience with Master’s degree in these fields.

  • Ability to multitask and effectively manage time.

  • A self-starter able to work independently but comfortable working in a team environment.

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills; attention to detail.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Ability to recognize and research issues and make recommendations/ decisions based on that research.

  • Intermediate computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Government contracting experience is a plus.

  • Costpoint experience is a plus.

       

Compensation Details:

$75000-$85000
