Amentum is seeking a Fire Safety Specialist for multiple OCONUS locations contingent upon award. The Fire Safety Specialist is responsible for ensuring the safety and compliance of fire detection, alarm, control, and suppression systems within the organization. This role requires expertise in fire protection systems and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving fire safety hazards. The specialist will work closely with facility management to maintain a safe environment for all occupants and ensure adherence to relevant codes and standards.
Essential Responsibilities:
System Installation and Maintenance: Oversee the installation, maintenance, and inspection of fire detection, alarm, control, and suppression systems to ensure they are functioning properly.
Compliance and Safety Audits: Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal fire safety regulations and standards.
Emergency Response: Act as the primary point of contact during fire-related emergencies, coordinating with emergency services and implementing evacuation procedures as necessary.
Training and Development: Develop and deliver fire safety training programs for staff, ensuring all personnel are knowledgeable about fire safety procedures and equipment.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of fire safety inspections, incidents, and corrective actions taken. Prepare detailed reports for management review.
On-Call Support: Be available on a call-in basis to address and resolve equipment deficiencies impacting facility operation.
Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Experience: Have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the installation of fire detection, alarm, control, and suppression systems.
Certification: Must have an active Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS) from the NFPA or equivalent
Security Clearance: Must possess a SECRET security clearance at the start of the contract and obtain the appropriate clearance (up to TS) within eight (8) months of contract award
Technical Skills: Proficient in fire protection system design and operation, with strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively train and guide staff in fire safety procedures.
Flexibility: A willingness to work outside normal business hours as needed to address fire safety issues or emergencies.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
OCONUS. Travel up to 25% of the time. Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds for short distances, stoop, bend, kneel, walk, and have full dexterity. Outside work in hot and cold, or wet weather, is often required. Protective devices are required to avoid injury.

Certification: Reach-back capability with a professional engineer licensee resource available, holding, at a minimum, a National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) Level III. Must be a certified technician in fire protection systems, legally qualified to practice in the United States, or possess equivalent qualifications approved by the Contracting Officer (CO).
