OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY:
The FDSM A working in the Life Support (PEMO), Cryogenics, or Hypergolic Storage Facility (HSF) applies advanced technical knowledge to perform complicated tasks and resolve problems associated with systems and equipment required to receive, issue, and store hazardous propellants, cryogenic fluids and high pressure gases. Assist the Lead Technician in overseeing operations involving their work location and in the absence of the Lead will assume all duties of the Lead until this individual returns. Maintains, fabricates, repairs and operates most of these systems in a safe and efficient manner. Generates/records the associated maintenance and operations data. Works under the general guidance of a manager/supervisor and Lead responsible for all operations in the work area, for compliance with safety, quality and environmental regulations, providing safe and efficient service in accordance with the demands on the system. Assist the Lead to resolve problems that require significant interface with Engineering, Quality, Safety, customers/users, suppliers, and senior management; and implements directives of greater complexity than solely manufacturers’ specifications, manuals or other documents. Provides extensive technical guidance to lower level technicians, determining the method and sequence of work processes, transmitting via oral and/or written instructions. This is a union position with the Teamsters and the hourly pay rate is $53.89.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
High school education, or equivalent, with five years experience in the same or closely related work. A minimum of two years experience must be in the same type work. Also requires a history in growth of responsibility in a complex technical environment.
If required, must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance as required by the Department of Defense.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Current Class A, or ability to be trained and obtain a Class A CDL.
Current (ASE) Automotive Service Excellence certification or ability to obtain.
