  • Direct the overall maintenance effort to ensure mission capable aircraft in the quantities necessary to execute contract requirements are available to the customer.
  • Enforce strict adherence to technical data, management procedures and company policy.
  • Know, understand and comply with the requirements outlined in the Performance Work Statement for Helicopter Maintenance Support Services, 58th SOW, Kirtland AFB, NM.
  • Ensure aircraft and equipment forms and MIS documentation are completed, accurate and accomplished. Ensure aircraft status is accurately reflected in both the maintenance forms and the MIS.   
  • Participate in developing and executing the monthly and weekly flying and maintenance schedules/plans.
  • Manage the maintenance production effort by assigning priorities to meet the flying and maintenance schedules.
  • Attend daily maintenance production/scheduling meetings.
  • Fully understand and be prepared to implement specific disaster control plans pertaining to aircraft/SE movement and personnel evacuation. 
  • Determine/track/report aircraft status, inform MOC of the maintenance effort and coordinate with MOC, Flightline Expediter, and other squadrons for support.
  • Authorize CANN actions, verify MICAP conditions exist, sign ER’s, verify NRTS conditions.

In addition, the candidate shall possess the following requirements:

  • Associates Degree in aviation technology highly desired. High School Diploma a minimum.
  • Must speak, read, write, and understand English.
  • Minimum 10 years hands on aircraft maintenance experience with at least 3 years supervisory experience and 3 years aircraft production experience. Minimum of 1 year in the last 3 on H-1 or H-60 aircraft.
  • Civilian aviation license or equivalent military technical training certificate.
  • Must be able to work day shift, night shift or weekend duty and travel as part of a maintenance recovery team as required.
  • Must deal with the customer and company employees in a courteous, professional and effective manner.
  • Must have an in depth working knowledge of aircraft safety directives, aircraft/vehicle movement, flight line operations, aircraft technical orders/job guides/publications (read, interpret, follow and comprehend schematics, diagrams, drawings, charts and technical publications).
  • Must have a working knowledge of computers (input/extract data) and basic computer software programs such as Word, Outlook, Power Point, and Excel.
  • Obtain/maintain aircraft/equipment Red X/IPI/ER certification.
  • Obtain/maintain secret security clearance.
  • Obtain/maintain a Restricted Area Badge.
  • Current valid U.S. Driver’s License.

Working conditions

  • This is a Grave Shift position. Expected working hours are 10:30 PM to 7:00 AM.
  • Work site is contained within a restricted area and requires the ability to obtain/maintain a government issued Restricted Area Badge for unescorted access to the work site and to obey all requirements of the restricted area.
  • Environment ranges from office-like to hangar and flight line. Extensive sitting to climbing, standing, stooping, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching, and walking demands.
