We have an exciting opportunity for a
Hypergolic Propulsion Engineer - Space Systems to join the team with Oceaneering, a teammate company.

The
Hypergolic Propulsion Engineer - Space Systems will:
- Reports NASA JSC EP4 Propulsion Systems Branch
- Knowledge in the design and development of major elements of ground test and space flight systems required to demonstrate the utilization of hypergolic propulsion and fluid systems
- Knowledge in component and system certification and the impacts of component design and operating environment on certification
- Provides support to national and international customers for US and International Space, visiting vehicles, and Commercial Crew customers
- Writes technical and progress reports covering assigned tasks which are made available to other technical groups and agencies
- Resolves unique or novel problems, conditions, and issues related to Hypergolic Propulsion Subsystems
- Provides support for flight Anomaly Resolution reviews and In-Flight Investigation reviews, capable of solving propulsion questions with low levels of information
- Perform other duties as required
Requisition Qualifications:This position has been posted at multiple levels. Depending on the candidate's experience, requirements, and business needs, we reserve the right to consider candidates at any level for which this position has been advertised.
- Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering and a minimum of 2- 5 years of experience in the field of hypergolic propulsion and related areas
- Minimum 5 years of spacecraft propulsion experience with a focus on mechanical aspects
- Experience in the design, assembly, testing, certification, and operation of space hypergolic propulsion systems and components
- Experience coordinating space propulsion systems requirements verification and validation between multiple organizations
- Basic knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the field, such as mechanical system design, engineering drawings and sketches, material selection, testing, and office software
- Excellent organizational skills, oral and written communication skills, and the ability to coordinate support from a wide range of technical disciplines
- Confident in knowledge and experience, and able to discuss hypergolic propulsion topics with subject matter experts
Requisition Preferences: - Requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering and may be expected to have a related master's degree and possess 5 plus years of related experience
- Familiar with JSC organizations, processes, and procedures
- Familiarity with the NASA JSC Engineering Life Cycle process

Essential FunctionsWork EnvironmentGenerally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.
Physical RequirementsWork may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).
Equipment and MachinesStandard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).
AttendanceRegular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
