Purpose of the position

Will perform assigned duties as an Amentum employee onsite at the NASA Johnson Space Center worksite.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Knowledge of basic Carpenter Codes
  • In good standing in Apprenticeship school ( If applicable)
  • Must have a High School Diploma

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen in order to obtain required NASA badge.
  • Must be able to provide a certified Birth Certificate (with state seal), Passport, or INS Citizenship documents on date of hire (candidate will be sent home if this paperwork is not provided upon arrival on date of hire).
  • Must have the ability to communicate the English language, both verbally and written, in an effective manner.
  • Must have, and maintain, a valid driver’s license (if not a Texas license, must obtain one within six months of date of hire).

Special Knowledge and Skills Required

  • This position is located onsite at NASA JSC and requires US Citizenship.       
  • Must be able to pass a Pre-Employment background questionnaire. 
  • Clean, neat and professional personal appearance.
  • Must pass Asbestos physical and be able to wear a respirator as needed.
  • Must have current Certificates as Scaffolding Builder and Scaffolding Inspector per OSHA 1926 Subpart L.  
  • Will ensure quality and completeness of work in a safe and timely manner as well as ensuring areas worked are clean, neat and ready for Customer’s needs when complete.

Physical Requirements

  • Must have the ability to communicate the English language both verbally and written in an effective manner.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
  • Dexterity to operate office and field equipment as required by the position.
  • In good physical shape/condition for climbing in and out of tight restricted working areas, as applicable.

Preferences

  • Prior knowledge of NASA site, experienced with working on government installations preferred.
