The Logistics & Transport Specialist is a role that offers the best of both worlds. A stable position in warehouse operations with adventure of long-haul transport runs across Australia.
Based in Alice Springs, you will primarily support warehouse and logistics functions, helping to receive, store, manage and distribute materials that support operations. Working as part of a team, you’ll be involved in inventory management, freight movements, loading and unloading of vehicles ensuring materials are handled safely.
When long haul transport is required, you’ll swap the warehouse for the open road, travelling with another driver to complete round trips in a brand-new heavy combination truck cross Australia.

Essential Responsibilities:
The Logistics & Transport Specialist is expected to carry out the following duties in accordance with established procedures, safety standards, and operational requirements:
Warehouse & Logistics:
- Receive, store, pick, pack and dispatch freight to keep materials moving where they're needed
- Load and unload trucks safely using forklifts and other warehouse equipment
- Organise and maintain warehouse stock, making sure inventory is accurate and easy to locate
- Carry out stock takes, cycle counts and general inventory activities
- Prepare freight for transport, ensuring loads are correctly packaged, labelled and secured
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely (we'll help you obtain your forklift licence if you don't already have one)
- Complete warehouse paperwork and maintain accurate records
- Keep the warehouse clean, organised and ready for the day's work
- Work safely, follow procedures and look out for your teammates
Long-Haul Driving
- Complete scheduled long-haul transport runs when required as part of a two-driver team
- Drive a manual heavy combination truck safely and professionally
- Carry out daily vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety issues
- Secure loads correctly and ensure freight is transported safely
- Complete driver logbooks, trip paperwork and transport records
- Follow fatigue management, road transport and company safety requirements while on the road
Any other reasonable duties as required
Skills and Certifications:
Minimum Essential
- Maintain a heavy combination (HC) truck license (Australian) or;
- Maintain a Class A CDL with a minimum of 2 years' proven experience (US)
- Ability to drive a manual transmission prime mover
- Basic computer skills (MS Office, emails and record keeping)
Desirable
- Vocational training or qualifications in Logistics or Supply Chain Management
- Experience using warehouse management systems (WMS) or equivalent tools
- Forklift License
- First Aid and CPR certifications
- White Card certification (construction site safety)
Experience: Minimum Essential
- Minimum of 6 months' experience in logistics, warehousing, or supply chain industry or relevant experience.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience operating vehicles with Class A CDL license (Only applicable for US candidates)
Environment
- Primarily based in temperature-controlled warehouses
- Regular use of forklifts and other warehousing equipment
- Long haul transport runs may require extended periods of driving and overnight travel
- Work is performed in a remote location in both indoor and outdoor environments that may involve exposure to extreme heat and weather conditions
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to independently lift and handle items weighing up to 25 kilograms as part of regular duties.
- Physical stamina and endurance to perform tasks that involve prolonged standing, walking, bending, or repetitive motions.
- Capability to operate material handling equipment and safely maneuver heavy loads as needed.
- Tolerance to work in outdoor and remote environments under varying weather conditions
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT
It is a condition of employment that employees obtain and retain a Top Secret (TSPV) Department of Defence (Australian) or TS/SSCI with poly (U.S) clearance
STATEMENT OF WORK REQUIREMENTS
All personnel assigned must be
- At least 18 years of age.
- Able to fluently read, write and speak English
- Australian or US citizen
Applicants will be required to undertake pre-employment checks which include referee checks, criminal History checks, a pre-employment medical assessment and drug test.
EHS REQUIREMENT
