Purpose and Scope:

Ensure that all materials are available to meet Preventative Maintenance schedule requirements without delays. This position is in support of the Air Force Contract Augmentation Program (AFCAP) and is located at Ascension Island Auxiliary Airfield (AAAF).

Essential Responsibilities:           

  • Provide and manage material acquisition, logistical support, and associated warehouse activities.
  • Issue materials to work activities, to include log materiel costs and close out work tasks in NexGen IT.
  • Ensure any items used in the maintenance, repair, and replacement of real property are available.
  • Receive material, to include maintaining and monitoring stock levels, managing holding areas, managing residual storage.
  • Maintain a bench stock for needed items for emergency work, PM, and highly consumable items to increase material availability and decrease material lead time and airlift requirements.
  • Stock and reorder levels should be based on estimated usage, time to reorder including delivery, and item cost.
  • Provide inventory listings and inventory discrepancy adjustments reports monthly.

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent training & experience.
  • Ability to read and write English is required.
  • Must be familiar with NEXGEN.
  • Solid communications skills, strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong ability to work as a member of a diverse, dynamic team.
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills and sound judgment. 
  • Must be a USN to fill this position.
  • Possess a valid state issued driver’s license and passport. 
  • Must be eligible for a Non-Sensitive (Tier 1) investigation and be able to receive a Geneva Convention CAC issued.
  • Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment.
  • Prior overseas government contracting experience preferred.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

  • Able to stand for long periods of time such as eight (8) to ten (10) hours, bend, kneel, and reach to store/retrieve supplies.
  • Able to lift, carry, and push supplies and boxes up to 50 pounds.
  • This position will be exposed to products of fire to include heat, smoke, toxic fumes, and gasses.
  • Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable. 
  • Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
  • Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions. 
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
