Role Title: CHMU Maintenance Requirement Determination Lead

Role Description:
Provide Maintenance Requirements Determination services including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Execute tasks for implementation of the new Maintenance Steering Group (MSG-3) Scheduled Maintenance Plan on CH-47F Chinook.
  • Apply MRD procedures and policies, specifically Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM), Failure Modes Effects Analysis (FMEA) and MSG-3, in accordance with relevant Defence Aviation policies to review and propose changes to maintenance policy and update the relevant Weapon System Data Base (WSDB)
  • Manage the CH-47F Chinook Weapon System Databases (WSDB) in eMRD.
  • Conduct reviews of the CH-47F Chinook Technical Maintenance Plans (TMPs).
  • Process and analyse TMP (EE400) and PSS (EE401) Proposed Amendments within the WSDB in accordance with relevant Defence Aviation policies 
  • Process, review and make recommendations on Maintenance Interval Extension Requests (MIERs) (vii) Produce TMPs, PSSs and Interim Amendments (INAMs) from the relevant WSDB 
  • Determine Independent Maintenance Inspection requirements 
  • Provide CAMM2 Updates for S-70A-9 Black Hawk and CH-47F Chinook Special Technical Instructions (STIs), Deviations and Modifications 
  • Develop and release Maintenance Policy Amendment Notifications (MPANs) for changes to CH-47F Chinook maintenance policy.
  • Assist with execution of the Reliability Programs for Chinook. 
  • Provide expert advice to the Aviation Command Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation.
  • Hold, or be able to hold, and maintain MRD Practitioner Engineering Authority.

Essential Requirements:

  •  Trade qualifications as an Avionics or Aircraft Technician
  •  Defence Maintenance Requirements Determination Practitioner course
  •  eMRD Weapon System Database course
  •  CAMM2 SPO Configuration Manager course (or demonstrable experience/proficiency in using the AEO parts of CAMM2)
  •  MRD Practitioner experience (minimum 2 years)
  •  General aircraft maintenance experience (minimum 2 years)


Desirable Requirements:

  •  DASR M practitioner course
  •  Defence Reliability Management course (DEFRELMAN)
  •  CH-47F Type course

Salary Range Depending on Experience: $160,000 (total package)

Required Security Clearance Level: NV1

Location: Gallipoli Barracks

Weekly Hours: 40 hours
