Are you looking for a meaningful position to allow you to continue supporting the world's finest submarine fleet? Amentum is seeking a Mid-to-Senior AN/BYG-1 Combat Control System Technician to support efforts in Newport News, VA. This is a full-time position and will allow you to continue providing hands-on support to some of the most sophisticated equipment the navy has.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with test and evaluation; perform validations/verifications of AN/BYG-1 systems
Assist in accomplishing Engineering Change Instructions (ECI)
Develop technical/engineering data for Planned Maintenance Systems, technical manuals, troubleshooting procedures, drawing updates, operation procedures, and maintainability improvements
Support systems engineering activities with subject matter expertise
Interface directly with the on-site customer for equipment/systems installation, testing, survey, fabrication, and other engineering tasks as needed
Comply with engineering documentation standards, engineering plans, and system specifications and test procedures; review change proposals for equipment impacts
Minimum Requirements
Security Clearance: Must have an Active Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain an Active Secret Clearance
Mid-Level Education & Experience: High School Diploma/GED and five (5) years of practical experience, OR an applicable degree/formal electronics training combined with three (3) years of practical experience
Senior-Level Education & Experience: High School Diploma/GED and ten (10) years of practical experience, OR an applicable degree/formal electronics training combined with six (6) years of practical experience
Must pass the Submarine Embarkation Medical screening
Technical Skills: Hands-on experience configuring, troubleshooting, repairing networking equipment and Windows servers and workstations
Travel: Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.

Direct experience working with AN/BYG-1 Combat Systems
Fire Control Technician "A" School

Service Contract Act (SCA) Compensation & Benefits:
This is an hourly, overtime-eligible position that falls under the Service Contract Act (SCA). In accordance with the Health and Welfare provisions of the SCA, and in addition to your base hourly rate, you may be eligible to receive an additional health and welfare payment for each hour you work to ensure compliance with the minimums set forth by the act. The amount you are entitled to receive will vary depending upon the fringe benefits you select now and in the future.
Compensation Details:
$23.99 - $40.00
