Role Title: Mission System & Software Lead

Role Description:

Embedded within the client ENG team, this position will lead and coordinate the development and implementation of rapidly iterative and interchangeable Mission Systems and Software for Autonomous and Collaborative Platforms (ACPs), with an initial focus on MQ-28A. They will liaise with stakeholders of all levels, building good working relationships and leading technical and programmatic working groups to ensure the wide range of stakeholders are aligned to the overall Air Force requirements.

Outcomes:

- Provision of specialist Engineering Services

- Engineering planning and management.

- Requirements management to meet customer needs.

- Review and assessment of supplier/stakeholder deliverables.

- Risk, Issue and Opportunity identification and management.

- Engagement with stakeholders for specialist tasking to support project objectives.

Duties Include:

- SME-level technical understanding of the current and planned MQ-28 Mission Systems and Software implementation, and relevant US Government Reference Architectures

- Technical lead for incorporation of 3rd Party Mission Autonomy on MQ-28A, per Defence requirements

- Leadership and mentorship of small section

- Deliver SME briefs on Autonomy and Architectures to Enterprise stakeholders, on an as required basis.

- Derive/assess requirements for future Mission System and Software roadmaps, including platform and digital/simulation environments.

- Establish, coordinate and lead working groups required to track and manage the multi-disciplinary efforts across all stakeholders required to establish an effective ecosystem of ACP Mission Systems and Software.

- Proactive engagement with US stakeholders for expedient data transfer, to ensure Programs are complementary to the rapidly evolving US Programs

- Provision of specialist Engineering Services have been delivered in accordance with the project/product plan and is executed to ensure project/product outcomes within cost, schedule and quality thresholds to meet service capability needs

Essential Requirements:

- Previous experience with Autonomy Software

- Previous experience with implementation of Mission Systems and Software Architectures

- Demonstrated SME skills/qualifications for management, sustainment and upgrade of Aviation Mission Systems and Software

- 5+ Years of aviation Acquisition/Sustainment Experience

- Previous experience with uncrewed aircraft systems (desirable)

Salary Range Depending on Experience: $170k - $180 (inc super)

Required Security Clearance Level: NV1 Security clearance

Location: Amberley, QLD

Weekly Hours: 40 hours work week
