About the Opportunity Amentum’s Inspection Validation Centre (IVC) are an independent, internationally recognised qualification body dedicated to upholding the highest standards in inspection, testing, and certification. With a commitment to integrity, safety, and technical excellence, we support the UK’s nuclear industry in achieving compliance and assurance through rigorous qualification and validation of inspection systems.
We are seeking an NDE Validation Consultant to join our expert team responsible for the assessment and validation of Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) procedures and systems. This is a critical role ensuring that inspection methods are robust, fit-for-purpose, and meet regulatory and code requirements.
Key Responsibilities: - Review and validate NDE procedures for technical adequacy and compliance
- Conduct independent assessments of inspection techniques
- Lead and support procedure and personnel practical qualification trials (both in the UK and abroad)
- Liaise with clients, regulators, and stakeholders to provide expert consultancy
- Prepare detailed technical reports and validation statements
- Contribute to the development of best practices, standards, and internal processes
Here’s What You’ll Need Essential: - PCN Level 3 in Ultrasonic Testing (or equivalent)
- Degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related field
- Proven experience in NDE/NDT, ideally in a highly regulated industry
- In-depth understanding of Ultrasonic NDE techniques and their application
- Familiarity with the European Network for Inspection & Qualification
- Strong technical writing and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
- Must be willing to travel both in the UK and Europe
- Must be able to achieve security clearance at a minimum of BPSS
Desirable: - Experience in NDE modelling/simulation tools (e.g., CIVA)
- Experience in automated inspection systems and data analysis
- Experience in test piece design and manufacturing
- Chartered Engineer status or working toward it
