Amentum is seeking an RF RADHAZ Survey Junior Engineer to join our team providing technical and engineering support to the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, Dahlgren, VA.

RF RADHAZ Survey Junior Engineer Responsibilities Include:

  • Conducting electromagnetic environment (EME) and radio frequency (RF) assessments of DoD surface vessels, submarines, and shore facilities for hazards to ordnance, personnel, and fuel. 

  • Ability to travel to measure EMEs, analyze data, conduct research, and develop technical reports that provide operational guidance for Fleet personnel.

  • Conducting RADHAZ desk top analysis and develop, maintain and produce technical documentation.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or Physics. 

  • Minimum one (1) year of general Experience in electronics, physics, or RF energy. 

  • Minimum one (1) year experience with conducting and analyzing electronic systems testing.

  • OJT and mentorship will be provided.

  • Average 25% CONUS travel and occasional OCONUS travel.

  • Must have an Active SECRET US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a SECRET Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • E3 specialized EMC, EMV, or HERO engineering experience.

  • Experience in each of the following areas: Preparing E3 technical documents, which include test plans/reports, analytical evaluations, and presentations.  Knowledge and application of military standards handbooks, and specifications; MIL-HDBK-235, MIL-HDBK-240, NAVSEA OP3565, DOD-STD-1399 Section 070, and MIL-STD-461/464  Standards.

  • Degree may be substituted with four (4) years of specialized experience in instrumentation and measurement systems required to conduct HERO/HERP/HERF testing.
