Amentum is seeking a Science Advisor to support our U.S. Department of Energy and Counterintelligence (DOE-IN) contract. Positions will be based in Washington, D.C. With options of other locations such as West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Newport News, VA.
Responsibilities: Serves as the Science Advisor to support the counterintelligence program, specific duties include, but are not limited to:
Requirements
Must possess a current Department of Energy Q security clearance and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI)
Advanced degree, from an accredited university or college in scientific or technical field such as engineering or the physical sciences.
Five (5) years of field experience conducting research or working in their selected field, interfacing with world class research and engineering organizations, and have subject matter expertise in the area of nuclear science and technology, preferably weapons development, design and engineering.
Must have a thorough understanding of the dual-use nature of nuclear technologies, and be able to identify potential nefarious use of legitimately obtained technology.
Experience at a U.S. National Laboratory and a collateral understanding of emerging sciences (electro-optical, laser, accelerator technologies, advanced materials science, nanotechnologies, and micro electro mechanics) is desired.
