Works under the direction of a Supervisory Paralegal and/or a Project Manager, performing the following tasks:

  • Performs moderately complex case and legal research
  • Summarizes deposition transcripts
  • Reviews case related materials and identifies potentially conflicting statements or areas requiring further investigation
  • Writes preliminary drafts of simple legal memoranda and correspondence
  • Input information into, and assist attorneys with the use of, CaseMap and TimeMap
  • Create and maintain witness files
  • Organize and maintain case files
  • Conduct searches in PACER, as well as through other court filing sources

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain MRPT facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for MRPT facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
  • Requires paralegal certificate, or JD, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school, having completed at least one year of study, or an equivalent level of legal training or experience; or an equivalent level of education may be substituted
  • Additionally at least two years of litigation paralegal experience or project experience (as related to the task order) is required; trial experience very helpful. 
  • At least one year of experience in automated litigation support. 
  • Requires a highly trustworthy employee to handle information and case details for highly sensitive series of cases.
  • Requires sound working knowledge of federal and state court system, legal research procedures, and legal research resources. 
  • Requires excellent written and oral communication skills and thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw.
  • Must have hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, imaging, and hardware systems.
  • Role also requires hands-on familiarity with eDiscovery tools (e.g. Relativity).
  • Ability to consistently deliver highest quality work under extreme pressure will be very important.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with various trial software (e.g.TrialDirector)
  • Experience with CaseMap and TimeMap
