ITER is a unique, first of a kind project that aims to demonstrate the technical and scientific feasibility of fusion energy.

Amentum one of three partners making up the Consortium MOMENTUM (construction management-as-agent contractor) is project managing the construction and assembly of more than one million components in world’s largest fusion reactor.

As construction management-as-agent contractor, MOMENTUM is managing the construction and assembly of the first full-scale test reactor to include balance of plant and the Tokomak itself. Amentum is recruiting for a Workface Planner with at least 5 years of experience to work on the ITER Project near Aix-en-Provence, France.

He/She will be responsible for:

Main duties /responsibilities:

• Coordinating with Worksite teams regarding Schedule change control and Construction Performance reporting

• Tracking of detailed reasons for delays, impacts, propose solutions, improvements and lessons learnt.

• Responsible for coordinating with department leads to report, provide advice on resource / coactivity conflicts.

• Reporting of physical progress, highlighting trends to management team

• Generation and presentation of project ’Dashboard’ reports

• Develop and Maintain Construction schedule (C-DWS)

• Carry out analysis of schedule variations

• Collate updates from worksite teams and Site Service Framework contractors

• Communicate progress to stakeholders

• Identify and report delivery risks and issues to the MOMENTUM management team

• Carry out resource monitoring and reporting

• Drive and coach Contractors for coherent schedule development and regular updating, including support on IT tools such as P6, SPF, IDM.

Details of missions:

• Support the Coordination Team to coordinate all activities on site, by preparing relevant schedule reports and advices.

• Maintains, updates, and communicates a central IO/CMA short term (3 month) Construction Schedule integrating Construction team (IO, DA and F4E/ENGAGE schedules) during CMA Care and Custody to support coactivity assessment risk analysis and operation. (weekly Detailed Schedules)

• Maintains, updates, and communicates a central IO/CMA short term (3 month) Construction Material Delivery schedule aligned to ROS milestones, in interface with Material management team.

• Maintains, updates, and communicates a central IO/CMA medium to long term (3 month to one year) Construction Fully Integrated Site Access schedule aligned to Construction Delivery Schedule, to include Site closures planned for by CMA

• Corroborate Construction Site Access Schedule with F4E/ENGAGE road Infrastructure programme and evaluate future building / platform access risk

• Maintains, updates, and communicates a central IO/CMA Medium- term (6 months to 1 year) Construction Schedule integrating scheduled for CMA Care and Custody to support coactivity assessment risk analysis and operation.

• Translation of Medium Term Care and Custody Schedule into Schematic area diagrams to illustrate Coactivity Conflicts and working arrangements.

• Maintains, updates, and communicates a central IO/CMA Short term (3 month) Construction Site Services Schedule per Scaffolding, Lifting and Handling, Radiological Testing and General Service Framework Contract.

• Constantly analyses and proposes mitigation and recovery solutions to potential disruptions or delays and advises on optimisation strategies for resource utilisation across the Construction Site Service Contracts.

• As frequently as needed collects and records technical input data, advice, approval on Construction scope and constraints, actual progress and best forecasts, from all stakeholders.

• Establishes and maintains Construction progress measurement and reporting (curves, histograms, Gantt views, impact analysis reports)

• Updates and feeds back into the C-DWS weekly progress reports and produces relevant comments and analysis to management through 3 months look ahead

• Monthly submission: Provides forecast vs actual analysis, curves, performance metrics reports (Site service Contracts) and layouts as required.

• Acts in a coordinated way with CMA planning team members

• Tracking of actual Construction physical progress,

• Provide useful feedback to Contractors on their Schedule deliverables

• Ensures the Contractors satisfy the requirements defined in the GMS

• Coordinating with Worksite teams regarding change control and reporting

Specific skills

• P6 advanced practitioner

• Excel advanced practitioner (pivot table, vlookup, sumif, curves)

• Good command of Ms Office tools (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Project)

• Significant experience in planning management of major construction projects

• Fluent in English

• Able to enhance reliability of schedule information (realistic forecast, undisputed actuals, clear scope and constraints, relevant assumptions and risks)

General skills

• Collaborative working in an integrated Client / Contractor team

• Established Experience working in Construction Site environments and the day to day operations of Site Service Contracts

• Ability to stay objective and propose solutions

• Ability to work in pressurised environments

• Open minded and diplomatic

• Good communication skills (listens, asks relevant questions, good speech command, produces comprehensive emails, reports and presentations)

• Good teamwork attitude (thinks as a team, respectful, successful handover, shares information, supports others when needed)

• Meeting management experience (preparation, agenda, reframe debates/digressions, define actions, take minutes, track actions)
