The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs.
The Spaceflight Processing, Test Integration Department is looking for highly qualified Engineering candidates to join the team as a Site Integration Engineer as a liaison between management and spaceflight processing subsystem engineering with the primary goal of providing real time floor support to resolve issues with paper, parts, resources.
-Assist management with resolution of paper, parts, resources issues to ensure ready to work as scheduled -Provide technical on-site assessment for integrated KSC cross contractor anomalies and coordinate resolution
-Minor GSE and Vehicle Work Authorizing Documents (WAD) alteration changes
-Assign, Change or clear system operational testing constraints
-WAD Disposition of Vehicle Lost and Found Non-conformance's, Unexplained loud noises, TIR data base coordinators for engineering -Assist with data collection for close calls and mishaps (incidents or unexplained occurrences on the ML/PAD B/ VAB area).
-Attend morning routine tie in meetings, scheduling meetings, and individual system engineering review meetings.
-On floor support for issues picked up during Firing Room (FR) operations when requested by the FR Test Team Obtain Cross
-Program/Exploration Ground System work authorization document approvals when work orders fall behind or are elevated to high priority
-Point of contact for High Priority work stoppage issues, alterations, non-conformances, and Material Review actions that fall within a 3-day scheduling window -Support the Action resolution team as needed to help find solutions to work processing issues
-Host / Facilitate Project Team meetings May be required to author, review and edit highly complex written and graphical technical materials, including system configuration, studies, reports, and other presentation graphics.
Candidates MUST have a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Engineering or technical equivalent from an accredited institution.

- Solumina/Maximo experience preferred
- Candidates should have academic and/or work experience in multiple engineering disciplines; mechanical, electrical, RF,
controls, fluid and software systems
- Analytical and problem solving skills.
- Capable of reading/understanding technical manuals, drawings and schematics.
- Must be a Leader with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects with minimal supervision.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products.
- May require working off shift and weekends.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, if necessary.
Physical Requirements
- Will be required to climb stairs to access equipment for troubleshooting.
- Climbing ladders and platforms will be necessary.
- Will be required to wear hearing protection, eye protection and other associated personal protective equipment.
- Position may involve extended periods of sitting or standing.
- Physical requirements are sitting, walking, standing, extensive use of stairs, and access to remote structures.
- Must be able to work in tight confined space areas.
Work Environment
- All work must be completed in a safe manner in accordance with NASA and Company safety standards.
- Will be required to work inside and outside throughout the test complex.
- Position requires daily individual to travel to different areas on site.
- Walking on uneven terrain including paved areas, gravel/rocks, and dirt/sand is required to access various locations on the facility.
Equipment and Machines
- Operate computer terminals, personal computers, and related computer peripheral equipment to maintain/adjust database logs and records, print documents and record work performance.
- Personal computer, scanner, copy machine, telephone, laser printer, fax machine, and other office equipment including desk supplies.
Attendance
- Work assignments are normally 8 hours shifts, 5 consecutive days per week.
- Must be dependable and punctual.
- Occasional overtime, sometimes with short notice, is required to meet demanding schedule
Other Essential Functions
- If offered a position, proof of U.S. Citizenship or Legal Permanent Resident/Green Card holder of the United States is required.
- Needs to have clear, concise, and accurate communication skills.
- Must have ability to work well with office staff and customer representatives.
- Government security clearance may be required in the future.
- Must be able to travel to support position requirements. This may include travel to and from customer location, which may involve airline travel. In some cases, accommodations can be made for POV, if necessary.
- Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.
- Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters good relations with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.
- Must possess and maintain a valid CDL with endorsements Florida driver’s license.
- Must pass a federal background investigation.
- Must comply with all “drug free workplace” requirements as mandated by directives issued by the appropriate federal contracting officer and the company, which requires drug testing for use of illegal drugs by employees in sensitive positions.
