We are seeking a skilled and motivated Software Applications Engineer to join our team and provide critical support for a suite of essential applications. This role offers the opportunity to work with a variety of technologies, including Java, Microsoft Visual Studio, SQL databases, and cloud platforms, in a dynamic and challenging environment. You will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and enhancing these applications to ensure their continued reliability and performance.

Description of Duties:

The Software Applications Engineer supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will:

• Provide primary support for the following applications:

o CAFM (Java/Tomcat)

o CDRLvue (Microsoft Visual Studio, ASPX, SQL database)

o Escheduler (Microsoft Visual Studio, ASPX, SQL database)

o Empower (Perl scripting, GUI, SQL database)

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS).

• Maintain and optimize Java and Tomcat environments.

• Develop and maintain SQL database backends.

• Implement and support Single Sign-On (SSO) with CAC authentication.

• Utilize and maintain Cloud Azure and AWS environments.

• Participate in late-night maintenance windows to support patching and system updates.

• De-conflict requests and requirements to ensure efficient problem resolution.

• Work independently with minimal supervision, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Basic Requirements:

• Must have 5, or more, years of direct Software Engineering experience

• Must have experience with Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS), including troubleshooting and maintenance.

• Must have experience with Java and Tomcat.

• Must have experience with Cloud Azure and AWS environments.

• Must have experience with Single Sign-On (SSO) with CAC authentication.

• Must have, or obtain within 3 months of start date, a current DoD 8570 Level II Certification such as CompTIA Security+ CE or higher

• Must have an active DoD secret Security Clearance

Desired Requirements:

• Have programming experience with Visual Studio.

• Have programming experience with SQL database backends.

This position is expected to pay $110,000 - $160,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
