Role Title: Network Solution Architect 

Role Description:
Responsible for producing and/or reviewing Project documentation and supplier deliverables as part of the One Defence Capability System (ODCS) Gate 2 process and Acquisition stages of the project. 

Major areas of responsibility include:
•    Responsible on behalf of the project for the services architecture and design
•    Reviewing contractor documentation.
•    Guide and manage the DDG system integration requirements for the project.

Role Title: Network Solution Architect 

Role Description:
Responsible for producing and/or reviewing Project documentation and supplier deliverables as part of the One Defence Capability System (ODCS) Gate 2 process and Acquisition stages of the project. 

Major areas of responsibility include:

  • Responsible on behalf of the project for the services architecture and design
  • Reviewing contractor documentation.
  • Guide and manage the DDG system integration requirements for the project.

High level deliverables:

  • Provide architectural support, advice, guidance and additional information as required    
  • Participate in the ICT Architecture working group
  • Produce necessary ICT architectural documentation to support System Engineering Design (SED) for the F-AMTS ICT system    
  • Participate in SED development activities and workshops    
  • Contribute to other project related documents
  • Where required, participate in Contract Negotiations
  • Work with Project Engineering Manager to develop the needs and requirements into valid system specifications.
  • Analyse vendor design specification, OCD, FPS, and develop technical interface designs that align to Defence patterns.
  • Support the development test and evaluation plans to provide traceability of the design.
  • Participate in working groups to develop interface control agreements with supporting service providers.
  • Manage the delivery and outcome of industry work packages to ensure it complies with the commonwealth statement of work

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Electrical Engineering, Software engineering or similar
  • Strong working knowledge in cyber-security
  • Strong working knowledge of systems engineering processes, specifically:

        a. Requirements analysis and definition
        b. System interface specifications
        c. Development and articulation of Operating Concepts (and supporting documentation)

  • 2. 5+ years’ experience in mixed Architectural and Solution Delivery in large Networks / Systems, preferably in the Defence environment:

        a.    Demonstrated ability to interpret complex technical solutions / options and develop recommendations
        b.    Able to appreciate the business context in which the systems operate.
        c.    Timely decision-making.
        d.    Demonstrated experience in problem solving, planning and seeking opportunities for improvement.

  • Strong written and verbal communication including but not limited to development of:

     a. Meeting minutes
      b. Project Briefings (written and verbal)
      c. Strong negotiation skills including good listening skills to understand subtle business and technical issues

Desirable Requirements:

  • Experience in the defence domain

Required Security Clearance Level: NV1

Location: Canberra. Note that some domestic travel may be required

Weekly Hours: 40
