Summary/General Description Of Job:

The Storekeeper receives, stores, issues, orders and records store items and hazardous materials in a warehouse.

Essential Duties & Job Functions:

§ Performs all the functions of receiving, storing, issuing, ordering, recording, and checking store items and hazardous materials in a store or warehouse where the flow of work requires one or more Storekeepers.

§ Expedites the flow of supply of parts, tools, and material for a shop or subcontractor as well as coordinates supply action between departments or work sections.

§ Receipts for material, arriving via commercial carriers, unloads, checks-in, and processes related documentation.

§ Checks for damage and coordinates the resolution of discrepancies or may process claims for freight damage.

§ May perform check-in and issue out of tools and equipment.

§ Researches and identifies compatible/incompatible chemicals for correct storage and provides MSDS information.

§ Determines the requirements for reshipping of material by providing for proper sizes of containers to be utilized.

§ Performs duties associated with the consolidation, repackaging, labeling and transporting of material. Work includes driving of forklifts, high lifts, and vehicles of medium weight.

§ Inputs data into computer data base systems.

§ Prepares reports and tracks data as directed.

§ Performs other related duties as assigned.

May perform work in other classifications when incidental work is necessary to the accomplishment of the work assignment. Significant work in another job classification may be required if accompanied by any wage adjustments applicable.

• Completing all mandated training requirements per government and management directives.

• Timely and cost-effective performance of duties.

• Timely completion and accuracy of all departmental work.

• Dealing with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations.

• Adherence to established company safety policies and good industrial and office safety practices.

• Compliance with company Standard Operating Procedures and Personnel policies and procedures.

• Having the ability to work well under pressure.

Job Requirements (Education, Experience, Professional Associations):

Mandatory

• High School education or equivalent with a minimum of three years’ experience in supply or logistic related work.

• Familiarity with military supply system a plus.

• Must have the ability to input routine supply document entries using a computer system.

• Must have three years’ experience utilizing computers for supply related work.

• Must possess and maintain a valid State issued driver’s license with good driving record.

• Must have experience operating material handling equipment such as pallet movers, and forklifts (gas, diesel and electric) from 2,000 pound to 10,000-pound capacity and be able to operate high lift/picker equipment to a height of thirty five feet above ground.

• Must meet and maintain company physical and security requirements, including clearance eligibility when required.

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

• Must be able to pass within 30 days of hire Company provided forklift operators course.

• Must possess good communication skills for a service team environment.

• Must be capable of performing specialized tasks requiring independent judgment such as identifying spare parts, selecting substitutes and determining interchangeable items.

• Ability to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract.

• U.S. Citizenship.

Rate of Pay: $29.08/hour (Union position)

This position receives, stores, issues, orders and records store items and hazardous materials to support Naval Kitsap Bangor near Silverdale & Poulsbo, Washington. • Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

• U.S. Citizenship

• No Felonies

• If prior military, must have honorable discharge on DD214
