Submarine Technical Support Center (STSC) in Groton, CT is looking for a highly motivated and experienced technician to become part of the STSC team.

The employee will be responsible for performing the following:

  • Provide highly skilled technical support and serve as a regional technical authority for direct fleet support of Atlantic Fleet Submarines

  • Apply knowledge of engineering theory and methodology in the analysis and resolution of problems encountered in submarine technical support/field service engineering assignments

  • Provide shipboard, in-shop, and at-sea technical assistance on controversial problems that have been determined to be beyond the capability of organizational/intermediate level activities and ship repair facilities

Minimum Requirements

  • Eight (8) years of full-time technical experience in the mechanical/electrical/electronic systems/equipment

  • Six (6) years of full-time engineering experience onboard submarines in the operation, maintenance, installation, test, or repair of combat systems and/or weapons handling equipment. Experience in evaluating the material condition of ship systems and implementing corrective action

  • Must have an active secret US government clearance. Note: US citizenship is required to maintain a Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Qualified in Submarines

  • Experience in the operations, troubleshooting, and repair of Weapons Shipping, Handling, and Launching Systems on the 774 Class submarines

Compensation & Benefits:

Compensation: The annual hourly rate for this position is $34.00 - $39.00 per hour. Factors which may affect starting pay may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
