Tell me about this role:

Amentum are seeking NV1 security cleared Systems Engineers of varying levels to join our team on a permanent basis. You will provide Systems Engineering activities to support a sovereign technology program delivering critical capability to Defence.

The successful candidate will require demonstrated experience in a high-pressure environment, preferably Defence, with strong knowledge of Systems Engineering practices and methodologies as applicable to the overall project lifecycle.

What will I be doing day to day?

  • Drive capability development through concept design, requirements definition, and system implementation
  • Oversee end-to-end engineering delivery, ensuring compliance with standards and efficient resource allocation
  • Contribute expert technical insights to the development and integration of advanced technologies
  • Execute comprehensive verification and validation activities to assure system integrity
  • Design, plan, and conduct structured testing programs for system performance and reliability
  • Manage and interpret technical data to support informed decision-making and continuous improvement
  • Control and maintain engineering documentation, including rigorous review and quality assurance processes
  • Cultivate strong professional relationships across multidisciplinary teams to enable successful outcomes

What sort of skills do I need?

  • Degree qualifications in Systems Engineer or related field
  • Experience within a government or Defence environment
  • Experience Engineering governance and Verification & Validation
  • High level attention to detail
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Be an Australian citizen and with an NV1 security clearance and ITAR compliance
