The Transport Specialist is responsible for the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of transportation assets to support personnel, goods, and materials between Alice Springs and Our site. This includes rostered bus services, airport transfers, truck runs, and general deliveries and collections in the surrounding areas within regulatory guidelines.

In addition, the Transport Specialist provides logistical support, including loading and unloading cargo, operating heavy machinery where qualified, supporting special events and assisting with warehouse activities where necessary. They also play a vital role in vehicle care by performing pre-inspections and ensure vehicles are maintained, cleaned, and refueled as required.

With a strong focus on safety and customer satisfaction, the Transport Specialist delivers a professional and positive experience for passengers and stakeholders. This role requires maintaining all necessary licences and endorsements, adhering to environmental health and safety standards and upholding ethical practices in line with organisational goals.

Key Duties:

  • Operate assigned transportation assets in a safe manner in accordance with regulatory guidelines
  • Perform rostered bus services transporting passengers to and from Alice Springs as directed
  • Transport deliveries as directed between Alice Springs, Our Site and airport
  • Provide a safe, dynamic and well-rounded experience for the customers every day
  • Utilize all material handling equipment is a safe and consistent manner
  • Prepare loads for transportation within regulatory guidance
  • Conduct basic Pre-Inspections of vehicles ensure vehicle are road worthy. Report any and all faults to transport supervisor. Carry out basic maintenance on vehicles
  • Ensure compliance with all Site environmental health and safety requirements
  • Demonstrate positive approach Amentum Ethics and goals
  • Maintain all appropriate licenses and endorsements and do not operate any equipment with an expired or revoked license or endorsement
  • Maintain vehicles in a clean and presentable condition including vehicle cleaning and minor maintenance
  • Any other reasonable duties as requested by any member of the team

Essential Requirements:

  • Australian Citizenship
  • A current Driver’s License with HR or H endorsement

Desirable Requirements

  • Vocational and/or tertiary qualifications in Transportation or Business streams
  • Forklift Licence
  • Experience in Logistics and Transport Operations including warehouse operations
  • HC Drivers Licence
  • First Aid / CPR
  • White Card
  • Working at Heights

Experiences - Minimum Essentials

  • 6 Months experience in Logistics industry

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 25 kg independently

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT

It is a condition of employment at JDFPG that employees obtain and retain the appropriate level of security clearance and medical clearance applicable to each role. The employee will be required to obtain and maintain up to a Top-Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) Department of Defense Security Clearance

STATEMENT OF WORK REQUIREMENTS

All personnel assigned to work at JDFPG shall be:

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Able to fluently read, write and speak English

EHS REQUIREMENT

All OASIS personnel are responsible for understanding and complying with all site environmental, health and safety requirements. While OASIS is responsible for providing a safe workplace and is responsible for ensuring compliance with requirements of the JDFPG Handbook, each person is responsible for:

  • Completing work task in a safe manner
  • Reporting any unsafe acts or conditions to their supervisor and/or OASIS PMO/EHS Manager
  • Continuous adherence to the environmental, health and safety procedures outlined in the JDFPG Handbook during the performance of their work
  • Red-Carding a Job - Employee right and responsibility to “STOP WORK” if a job is unsafe or possess a danger to the environment
