Amentum is seeking a Transportation Maintenance & GSE (Ground Support Equipment) Supervisor to support the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) Mission on Andros Island, Bahamas. AUTEC is a Major Range and Test Facility Base (MRTFB) and the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport's largest single team project, providing both deep and shallow water test and training environments. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Clearance. Note: U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Direct and participate in maintenance and repair of gas powered and electric golf carts, gas and diesel powered light trucks, cars, heavy trucks, buses, material and weight handling equipment and light, medium and heavy-duty construction equipment.
- Provide diagnostic and operational technical assistance.
- Become familiar with manufacturers’ shop manuals.
- Comprehend occupational hazards, observe, train and enforce safety precautions related to work areas.
- Comprehend Material Safety Data Sheets.
- Create and or change statuses of parts and equipment requisitions.
- Coordinate shop workflow.
- Provides status updates, advises manager of personnel concerns in the workplace, administers by established policy.
- Oversee transportation clerk tasks including but not limited to work order data entry and work scheduling.
- Assist in disciplinary processes, mechanic duties and provide guidance and training to mechanics as needed.
- Prepare Metrix monthly reports for vehicles and GSE equipment.
- Oversee and schedule GSE PM’s, Housing needs and Supervise GSE Mechanics.
- Work with Transportation Supervisor in preparing CM’s in Maximo for additional work required on scheduled PM’s.
- Confer with Parts Technician to determine stock vs DTO needs.
- Be involved with all inspections (NAVOSH, Haz Mat, Property, etc.).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Strong mechanical background with 10 years’ experience as a maintenance lead required.
- ASE, military or manufacturer specific training and certification required.
- Experience in office computer programs such as Excel and Word.
- Works well in and develops team-oriented environment.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience with hydraulic and electrical systems of vehicles and equipment required.
- GSE Operator License within 1 year.
- Current NCCO Mobile Crane Mechanic Certification required.
- Current NCCO Mobile Crane Mechanical and Electrical Inspector required with 90 days.
- Current NCCO Certified Crane Electrician required within 90 days.
- MAXIMO experience required.
- Excellent customer service skills required.
- Able to frequently bend, stoop and crouch.
- Able to push/pull/carry up to 75 pounds.
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must be able to reside unaccompanied in a remote location with limited medical facilities.
- A valid U.S. passport and driver’s license is required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Clearance. Note: U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- FRCSE Provided on-site Ground Support Certification preferred.
- Previous experience with NATEC Database and Military Ground Support Equipment preferred.
- Extensive experience or training on TEXA and Cummins Insite software preferred.
