Amentum is seeking a highly qualified Acquisition Management Analyst to provide real-time operational support, research, analysis, and assessments in support of 7th Fleet N4 at Yokosuka Naval Base, Japan. This role involves overseeing and coordinating acquisition management processes that support fleet readiness, logistics, and sustainment. The ideal candidate will have expertise in acquisition management within the DoD, with a specific focus on logistics operations and operational requirements.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the development and execution of Acquisition Management processes within the 7th Fleet N4, ensuring alignment with operational and strategic objectives related to logistics, sustainment, and force deployment.
  • Coordinate with military commands, DoD agencies, and international partners to develop and execute acquisition plans, including procurement, sustainment, and deployment of logistics systems.
  • Utilize Acquisition Management Systems to efficiently execute acquisition functions and ensure operational needs are met for the fleet.
  • Analyze and assess acquisition capabilities, identify shortfalls, and recommend solutions to optimize fleet readiness and logistics posture.
  • Lead the development of risk assessments, mitigation strategies, and contingency plans to support logistics and acquisition processes.
  • Collaborate with operational planners, logistics teams, and other stakeholders to ensure acquisition plans are informed by relevant data and analysis.
  • Conduct regular assessments of the acquisition management process to ensure compliance, effectiveness, and efficiency in line with DoD acquisition policies and fleet logistics requirements.
  • Manage the acquisition budget and develop cost estimates to support logistics procurement and operational planning.
  • Provide regular briefings and updates to senior military leaders and stakeholders on the status of acquisition operations, logistics, and sustainment activities.
  • Represent 7th Fleet N4 in forums and meetings related to acquisition management, offering expertise and advice to other commands and DoD agencies.
  • Travel up to 10% for attending conferences, training events, or other logistics-related activities.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
  • DAWIA (Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act) certification in Program Management (Level II or III) or Requirements Management (Practitioner or Expert) for Business Cost Estimation and Financial Management
  • At least 10 years of combined experience supporting Department of War (DoW) and acquisition management processes.
  • Proven proficiency in authoring analytical reports and policy documents.
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to provide information and operations support.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • Must have an active Top-Secret clearance and be SCI eligible. US Citizenship is required to obtain a Top-Secret clearance.

Key Skills and Abilities:

  • Acquisition Expertise: Strong understanding of the DoD acquisition process, including procurement, sustainment, and logistics operations in support of fleet readiness.
  • Logistics Management: Knowledge of fleet logistics, supply chain operations, and sustainment strategies within a forward-deployed command.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to assess acquisition and logistics requirements, identify gaps, and recommend strategies to optimize readiness and operational posture.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for preparing briefings, reports, and policy documents.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Experience collaborating across multiple stakeholders, including military commands, DoD agencies, and international partners, to ensure effective acquisition and logistics strategies.
  • Risk Management: Experience in developing and executing risk assessments, mitigation strategies, and contingency plans.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, National Security Studies, Strategic Studies, or a related field.
  • Completion of military professional education (e.g., Intermediate Level Education/Command and General Staff College, Senior Service College) is highly desirable for former military personnel.
  • At least 3 years of experience working in the U.S. Pacific Fleet Area of Responsibility (AOR) or at a similar forward-deployed command.
  • At least 3 years of experience in Acquisition Management within a DoD or military environment.
  • At least 2 years of experience working in a military staff office (e.g., Service HQ, Combatant Command, OSD, JS).
  • Joint Professional Military Education (JPME) certification.

Compensation & Benefits

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $140K - $160K (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)

Compensation Details:

$140K - $160K
