Armed Forces at Amentum

Amentum is a global leader in advanced engineering and innovative technology solutions, trusted to address their most significant and complex challenges in science, security and sustainability.

Our people apply undaunted curiosity, relentless ambition and boundless imagination to challenge convention and drive progress. Our commitments are underpinned by the belief that safety, inclusion and well-being are integral to success.

We have more than 53,000 employees in approximately 80 countries across all 7 continents.

Amentum employs more than 400 UK military veterans in the defence, energy and cyber security sectors, carrying out work that is vital to national security, including procurement and delivery for MOD Defence Equipment & Support, nuclear safety assurance and infrastructure engineering for the Royal Navy’s submarines, and design and build of new facilities at the Atomic Weapons Establishment.

The company guarantees reservists additional paid time-off for training, provides special support for military spouses and employees who volunteer with the cadet forces, has a tailored programme to enable service leavers to make a smooth transition to civilian employment, and runs an ex-military employee network which organises social, outreach and fundraising activities.

Armed Forces Covenant

Amentum are signatories of the Armed Forces Covenant, and are proud to have achieved the Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Award.

The Defence Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Award is for employers that do the utmost to pledge, demonstrate or advocate support to the defence and armed forces community, and align their values with the Armed Forces Covenant, a promise by the nation to treat those who serve with fairness and respect.

“The military family is very important to Amentum and we are delighted that the UK Ministry of Defence recognises the commitment shown by our company and its employees. Veterans and reservists bring to their work the skills, character and experience they have developed in the military and aligning our policies closely with the Armed Forces Covenant is a great way to support them and say thank you for their important contribution to our business.”
