Amentum, a global leader in advanced engineering, technical, and professional services serving the US government, allies and critical infrastructure sectors, is seeking an Assistant Petroleum, Oils and Lubricant (POL) Superintendent to support a government contract based on the island of Diego Garcia.

PURPOSE / SCOPE

The Assistant POL Superintendent shares responsibility for supervision and performance of receipt, storage, testing, and distribution of fuel and lubricants, ensuring safety, quality control, and environmental compliance.  The Assistant POL Superintendent performs duties to ensure compliance with Performance Work Statement (PWS) and Amentum ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS) and functions as redel in the POL Superintendent's absence.

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Sharing responsibility of managing daily fuel operations, distribution, and inventory for POL
  • Develop and continuously improve safety processes and overall process improvements to area of responsibility
  • Perform other duties as assigned

The Assistant POL Superintendent will be available within 30 minutes to meet with Government personnel and / or Program leadership as required 24 hours/day, 7 days/week in this role.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in an associated discipline preferred; two (2) years of experience in related field may be substituted for each year of the four (4) years of college
  • At least five (5) years of experience in liquid fuels and fuel terminal operations (i.e., receiving POL products; issuing via tank truck, pipeline, barge, ship and tank car; maintenance, repair and modification of POL storage, distribution and dispensing systems). Three (3) of the five years of experience must have been served in a supervisory capacity
  • Two years specialized experience with pressure-type hydrant and pantograph fuel systems
  • Mechanical, electrical, control and fire prevention expertise
  • Three years’ experience in a leadership role in an austere OCONUS environment with a multi-national workforce
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US passport and driver's license throughout employment in this role
  • Ability to successfully pass PACOM medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance

WORK ENVIRONMENT, PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Able to stand for long periods of time such as eight (8) to ten (10) hours, bend, kneel, and reach to store/retrieve supplies
  • Able to lift, carry, and push supplies and boxes up to 50 pounds
  • Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable
  • Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions
  • Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions
