As an Expert DevOps Engineer, you will support an exciting National Security mission to position NGA to be the enterprise and community GEOINT data provider, improving the way analysts, customers, and end users access, discover, stage, link, produce, re-integrate, and deliver intelligence. You will work with talented developers and colleagues, gaining exposure to industry best practices such as AWS cloud solutions, continuous integration/delivery, infrastructure as code, and automation of testing of deployments.

Work Schedule: M – F, 8 hrs/day, Standard business hours

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Maintain AWS C2S environments in support of teams of developers across various security domains.
  • Support the development of CI/CD devops pipeline to include Jenkins agents and Auto Scaling Group. 
  • Support administration of OpenVPN and LDAP services for access to AWS console and CI/CD tools.
  • Create and maintain automated microservice deployments to AWS environment using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) frameworks.
  • Work with development teams to automate and accelerate build, test, and deployment of applications into a runtime environment across multiple domains/environments.
  • Design, develop and implement processes for DevOps operations; utilizing CI/CD principals and patterns, employing CI/CD tools, to achieve successful continuous integration and delivery solutions for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and software applications.
  • Build and maintain Cloud infrastructure
  • Troubleshoot issues and coordinate with development team to streamline code deployment
  • Design and develop using common languages/scripting languages, such as Python, Linux Shell (Bash/Bourne/etc), and Java/SpringBoot
  • Windows and Active Directory administration experience

Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of cloud systems
  • Isolate and resolve problems involving the applications, operating system, hardware, communications, other infrastructure, or any combination as needed
  • Prepare problem reports to appropriate leads like Amazon/C2S, NGA-ESC, etc.
  • Provide support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers
  • Installs/loads operating system and application software
  • Isolate and resolve hardware and software problems involving the applications, operating system, hardware, communications infrastructure, or any combination of these
  • Troubleshoot, maintain integrity and configure network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance
  • Integrate new technologies into new and existing systems including the transition and migration of corporate systems
  • Monitor and report on system health using various dashboarding tolls such as Elasticsearch Kibana, AWS Cloudwatch, etc.
  • TS/SCI level security clearance
  • The ability to report and work on-site daily (this role is not remote).

Minimum Education:

Master’s degree plus 4 years of experience, bachelor’s degree plus 6 years of experience, associate's degree plus 12 years of experience, or a minimum of 15 years of experience, in relevant field

  • AWS CDK
  • Apache NiFi experience

  • AWS Server Less, SQS/SNS, Lambda, ECS, EC2
  • NGA imagery and Data Repositories
  • Windows and Active Director Administration experience

This position is designated as a safety sensitive position.

Compensation Details:

US:$190,000 - $210,000
