Financial Analyst

Amentum is seeking a Financial Analyst to support a unique US Navy program on the island of Diego Garcia. The Financial Analyst will be responsible for analyzing and evaluating financial data, ensuring compliance with budgeting and reporting requirements, and providing actionable recommendations that support strategic and organizational objectives. This role partners with programs management to ensure sound financial stewardship and contract compliance. 

Job Responsibilities:

•    Analyze budgets, expenditures, and financial reports to support accurate forecasting and financial planning.
•    Prepare and deliver financial reports and summaries in accordance with organizational, contractual, and regulatory requirements. 
•    Monitor financial accounts and perform variance analyses comparing budgets, forecasts, and actual expenditures. 
•    Assist with budget formulation, allocation, and tracking of financial transactions to ensure adherence to approved budgets. 
•    Evaluate financial trends, identify risks, and provide recommendations to leadership.
•    Support month end and year end financial close activities, including analysis of expenditures, journal entries, and accruals. 
•    Collaborate with program managers, contract administrators, and cross functional teams to ensure accurate financial execution of projects. 
•    Provide pricing support and cost analysis during proposal and bid development. 
•    Maintain financial records and supporting documentation for internal and external audits. 
•    Assist in developing cost control initiaties and ensure compliance with internal financial policies and federal regulations, including FAR and DFARS.
•    Perform other job-related duties as assigned that are consistent with the nature and level of the position.


Required Qualifications:

•    Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. 
•    Minimum of three (3) years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, budgeting, or a related discipline.
•    Working knowledge of financial management systems and reporting tools. 
•    Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and variance analysis. 
•    Knowledge of U.S. Government financial regulations, including FAR and DFARS. 
•    Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
•    Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills with attention to detail. 
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
•    Must be in possession of a valid passport and be able to travel internationally.
•    Passport must be valid for a minimum of one (1) year or more at the time of hiring.
•    Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. 
Employees must read, speak, and comprehend English to the extent that they can perform the contract requirements and comply with installation emergency procedures.
 Ability to obtain country-specific visas per the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide.
Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain compliance throughout the duration of deployment.
 

Preferred Qualifications:

•    Prior experience working in an austere OCONUS (Outside the Continental United States) environment with a multi-national workforce 
•    A valid driver’s license to legally operate a motor vehicle. 
•    Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. 
•    Certified Public Accountant certification.

Working Environment
This position is located on Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT), a remote overseas location supporting U.S. Government operations. Employees may work in office, industrial, warehouse, port, airfield, and outdoor environments and may be exposed to high temperatures, humidity, inclement weather, noise, dust, and uneven terrain. Work schedules may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on operational requirements. 
 
Physical Requirements
Requirements may include prolonged sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, lifting up to 25 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally, and working in both indoor and outdoor environments. Must be able to meet all medical, security, and deployment requirements associated with assignment to a remote overseas location.
