This person will provide instrumentation and controls engineering expertise in support of the SFHP Project. The role will provide support for construction, testing and commissioning. The candidate will support all aspects of I&C engineering.  Review / checking of design documents and I&C deliverables developed by design teams.

Experience with originating and checking standard I&C deliverables including P&ID’s, Instrument Lists, IO Lists, Cause and Effect Matrix, control narratives, loop drawings, control system architecture drawings, instrument datasheets and sizing instrumentation, creating specifications for industrial control systems, instruments and final control elements.  The successful candidate must also have familiarity with ISA standards. Experience must also include system design, data collection, systems engineering and analysis, problem resolution, and documentation of results. The ability to work collaboratively in a team environment is essential.  The work environment requires the ability to cooperate and work with individuals at all levels of the company and the client.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ Years of experience in the Instrumentation and Controls field

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET Accredited program

  • 15 years of relevant I&C experience will be considered in lieu of an engineering degree

  • Demonstrated experience working on a range of projects from concept through construction and commissioning

  • Knowledge of design, construction methodology, material application, and manufacturer-supplier appropriateness

  • Ability to understand and follow established Amentum quality procedures

  • Experience working within a quality system based on ISO 9000 or NQA-1

  • Competent using Microsoft Office software

  • Ability to work onsite at Idaho National Lab daily if needed

  • Must be able to show proof of US citizenship (to comply with government customer requirements and/or applicable government regulations)

Preferred qualifications:

  • Able to lead groups of engineers and designers to complete technical portions of projects within established budgets and schedules.

  • Experience with Department of Energy (DOE) standards and Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) regulations

Essential Functions:

Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting. Lifting requirements limited to 20 lbs. in the form of supplies, drawings, etc.  Hand manipulation is required for simple grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation. Occasional need to reach and/or work above the shoulder, for supplies, as well as below the shoulder for same. Must be alert to equipment in the field, there will be occasional travel, will work near construction job site equipment when in the field, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, occasional need to walk on uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at heights. 

Equipment and Machines:

  • Standard office PC, with software will be provided 

  • Travel required – As needed 

  • Attendance: Ability to work in the field construction site and office is required

  • Valid driver's license is required. Must be able to work in a team atmosphere

  • Must put forward professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation

  • Must take and pass a pre-employment drug and background check

       

Compensation Details:

$100,000 - $165,000
