Amentum is seeking a hands-on Network & IT Support Technician to manage our physical network infrastructure and provide essential connectivity support to our users. You will be responsible for the "boots-on-the-ground" technical work, including installing network hardware, maintaining cabling, and ensuring all IT assets are accurately tracked.

This position is reserved for Bahamian citizens only. Must be a citizen of the Bahamas.

Essential Responsibilities:

Network Installation & Connectivity

  • Deploy and configure Wi-Fi Access Points (WAPs) to ensure optimal signal coverage throughout the facility.

  • Install and mount network equipment, including routers, switches, and patch panels in server racks. o Connect workstations, printers, and other peripherals to the local network (LAN).

  • Physical Infrastructure & Cabling o Run, pull, and terminate copper (Cat5e/Cat6) and low-voltage cabling.

  • Troubleshoot physical layer issues, such as damaged jacks, faulty patches, or cable interference. o Organize and label cabling within server closets to meet industry standards.

  • Testing & Troubleshooting o Perform basic network testing using diagnostic tools (e.g., cable testers, ping, tracert) to verify connectivity.

  • Identify and resolve roadblocks in LAN infrastructure that prevent users from accessing network resources.

Inventory & Documentation

  • Maintain a detailed physical inventory of all IT assets, including serial numbers, locations, and status.

  • Document network layouts and cable paths to assist with future upgrades or repairs. Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with hand tools and power drills for mounting equipment and running conduit.

  • Networking Knowledge: Familiarity with TCP/IP, Wi-Fi standards, and basic router/switch configuration.

  • Physical Stamina: Ability to climb ladders, work in confined spaces (crawl spaces/ceilings), and lift equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.

  • Attention to Detail: Precision in cable termination (color-coding) and accuracy in maintaining inventory records.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Associates Degree in IT or related domain
  • 2 years IT experience as a Technician


Preferred Qualifications:

CompTIA A+ or Network+

Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)

BICSI (Building Industry Consulting Service International) for cabling standards.

       

Compensation Details:

$18.00
