The Logistics Material Coordinator is responsible for the handling and processing of materiel release orders, maintaining stock records, and managing automated and manual accounting records, manage and direct logistics operations within a warehouse setting. Performs other supply and warehousing duties in accordance with AR 710-2.

(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract.)

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conducts cyclic inventories, resolves stock discrepancies and assists in investigation of unusual supply and storage operation problems, such as handling of losses/gains of inventory, abnormal storage or shipping processing time.

  • Participates in annual ASL (Authorized Stockage List) reviews and changes to the ATF (Authorized to Forecast) based on customer usage needs as to which items are to be retained, and which are to be deleted and facilitating their transfer back to depot level support.

  • Utilizes GCSS-Army to review various processes daily to ensure the timely and efficient processing of orders, ensuring the correct functions are being performed by all employees with GCSS-Army in the warehouse.

  • Understand the functions of all Army Supply warehousing departments and coordinate between them to ensure the efficient operation of the warehouse.

  • Works closely with all departments of the warehouse to resolve any GCSS-Army issues and discrepancies.

  • Expedite the flow of material, parts and orders from depot supply support to customers in a timely manner.

  • Ensure proper logistics support is maintained and problems identified

  • Plans, directs, controls, coordinates and evaluates logistics support functions.

  • Coordinates information received, and materials issued and received from various activities and sites concerning logistics operations.

  • Coordinates day-to-day logistics operations between employees between the various departments.

OTHER or ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge & Skills

  • Knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and related federal and state legislation and regulations.

  • Knowledge of various computer applications such as Microsoft applications (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills to oversee operations of the logistics organization.

  • Ability to work independently and with little guidance.

Experience & Education

  • High school education, associate degree a plus.

  • Specialized training courses in Logistics/Material Coordination is desirable.

  • Three (3) years’ experience in logistics.

  • Experience in supply chain management and/or government property administration.

  • Experience with GCSS-Army/SAP logistics management program.

  • Knowledge of the US Army Supply program and AR 710-2.

Physical Requirements/Working Environment

  • Must be able to Read, Write and Communicate effectively in English.

  • Be able to complete a LNSP security screening to obtain a CAC (Common Access Card), This requires a minimum of one (1) year residency in Germany.

  • OCONUS: Some positions will be assigned to overseas locations where living and working conditions at assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable, with long hours, exposure to weather, dust, and hazardous/harsh conditions.

Travel

  • May be required to travel domestically and internationally on short notice, to austere environments, under harsh living conditions.

Nationality Restrictions

  • If US citizen, must be able to obtain/maintain Security Clearance (NACI-T1) or obtain/maintain favorable LNSP Background check - NACI-T1 needs to be at least initiated - ok to start with Police Report in hand and NACI-T1 clearance initiated.

  • If non-US citizen, must be able to obtain German Police Report or obtain/maintain favorable LNSP Background check LNSP. 

Working Permits Required

  • Must be able to obtain Germany work visa and German TAX ID number prior to start date
