Purpose and Impact:

The Maintenance Project Manager supports a dynamic, complex and multifaceted operational site by coordinating maintenance and system upgrades to existing infrastructure and managing work orders completed under Service Level Agreements (SLA) at all locations as part of the External Vendor Program within Operations & Maintenance (O&M)

The role is responsible for the coordination and execution of work orders and maintenance to be completed by contractors external to Amentum while also supporting the Proposal team in the development of statements of work and subsequent vendor selection.

The position provides a professional service in leading and coordinating technical control, operation and maintenance of all assigned facility infrastructure systems and equipment, through the leadership and supervision of nominated external contractors. This includes responsibility for planning, organization, coordination, scheduling, training, mentoring, as well as the resource and Project Management skills relevant to execution of assigned Work Orders. The Maintenance Project Manager is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of in Town operations. This will include the coordination and execution of general maintenance completed under SLA with vendors, breakdowns and quick repairs to small projects. This will include being the after-hours contact for any issues that may arise.

The Maintenance Project Manager is accountable for the timely planning and execution of operations and maintenance external work orders and ensuring a high level of service is maintained. This role also ensures that the facility operational configuration is controlled in a manner that maximises productivity and equipment reliability.

This position reports to the Maintenance Manager and will work as a member of the overall Facilities Operations & Maintenance team, working closely with other departments to foster, promote and maintain best-practice standards and enable reliable, consistent and effective maintenance and operation of facility systems in accordance with site processes and policies. This role is key to the success of the broader O&M team and thus also works closely with all Facilities O&M personnel in the delivery of high-quality facility O&M services to enable the mission.

Work Schedule:

Day shift – 5 days per week, 8 hours per day​  

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Oversee tasks completed by an approved external vendor/s including and not limited to timelines, budget, quality, close outs, execution and inspection of completed works.
  • Coordinate and support the Proposal's department in the development of Statement of Works, Service Level Agreements including but not limited to project planning and initiation stages.
  • Coordinate, supervise and support necessary consultation within the O&M department, and/or other departments, to allow sub-contractors to execute tasks.
  • Coordinator and submit all site access, permits required for the completion of Work Orders completed by External Vendors.
  • Respond to contractor/customer-initiated requests for information
  • Tender response review for technical acceptability
  • Job status tracking and reporting to various levels of the organization

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

The position is desk based and sedentary in nature, the ability to lift items up to 5kgs may be required occasionally.

Attention to detail and high concentration levels are required along with the ability to multitask and perform thorough decision-making processes

Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of computer skills
  • Demonstrated high level of problem solving, decision making and analytical skills;
  • Demonstrated capacity to drive positive change.
  • Demonstrated capacity to understand and enforce process and procedural compliance
  • Proven ability to apply knowledge and experience in the preparation and delivery of reports, briefings, analysis and investigations
  • Strong collaborative skills across the organization
  • Strong understanding of Work Health Safety (WHS) Act, and EHS policies & procedures;

Security Clearance Required:

It is a condition of employment that employees obtain and retain the appropriate level of security clearance and medical clearance applicable to each role.  The employee will initially require a NV1 with the intent of applying for a Top-Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) Department of Defense Security Clearance (Australian) or TS/SCI (U.S.) clearance.

Minimum Education:

All personnel assigned to work shall be:

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Able to fluently read, write and speak English

Minimum Years of Experience:

2-4 years' experience in administration, management and/or executive support, with a broad administrative understanding of programs or similar size and complexity.

High level communication skills, detail orientation and the preparation of documents are critical to a successful performance.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Certificate IV in Business Administration or equivalent demonstrated experience. or
  • Certificate IV In Project Management or equivalent demonstrated experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience working within Facility Maintenance or similar technical environment.
  • Enterprise Resource Planning experience. (SAP)

This position is designated as a safety sensitive position.
