About the Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity to work as a Mechanical Project Engineer on the Hinkley Point C project.
The role of the Mechanical Project Engineer is site based and will report to the Construction Manager.
The candidate will be required to work in line with the Amentum construction team's working rotation. This consists of 10 days on site with a 4 day weekend, starting on a Tuesday and finishing the following Thursday. The candidate will receive overtime and weekend pay rates in line with the site ESCA agreement.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure works are installed as per the specified design
Where installation issues arise develop an engineering resolution as per the change process
Analise/review Survey data to ensure as built state is with permitted tolerance.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawing, translate product drawings into actionable process information and develop design ideas and plans successfully
Use your own initiative and experience to bring issues to a prompt resolution.
The ability to quickly understand the new scope and give guidance on the most efficient installation methodologies.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
Role specific degree or NVQ L6
Experience of carrying out design reviews, technical submissions and compliance.
Experience using CAD & NavisWorks software
A chartered level of qualification is desirable. Graduate or other post holders not meeting these criteria should provide evidence of extensive experience working in programme and project environments
Membership of a relevant professional body such as the ICE or an engineering institution is preferred
Mechanical & Structural engineering experience is essential and Civil Engineering experience preferable but not essential.

This means that you will need to have, or be able to obtain, Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance and either Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV) clearance. The security clearance process may require non-British nationals or dual nationals (i.e. those with British and another nationality) to be subject to additional evaluation, depending on nationalities held and the nature of the work to be carried out.
