About the opportunity
Amentum delivers programme, engineering and technical support services across complex infrastructure and highly regulated environments, with a strong focus on nuclear decommissioning and radioactive waste management.
Our teams support clients across Europe through provision of technical expertise, project management and programme support services, working on nuclear, environmental and large-scale infrastructure projects.
We are expanding our capability in Central and Eastern Europe and are seeking a Quality Engineer to support our nuclear decommissioning program in Northern Italy. and infrastructure projects delivered under PMU and FIDIC-based frameworks.

Scope of duties

  • Developing, implementing and maintaining quality management processes. 

  • Cooperation and support of project management from the point of view of meeting the requirements of quality systems. 

  • Management and support of quality processes from the incoming inspection of raw materials to the final inspection of products.

  • Resolving Non-conformances (and other findings), implementing corrective and preventive measures. 

  • Carrying out audits, notably against the quality management system and external certifications e.g. ISO 9001. 

  • Reporting, including annual reporting, of performance of, and compliance with, the requirements of the quality system. 

  • Cooperation in the creation and implementation of employee training.

Requirements 

  • Education: University degree (first or second degree), technical focus is an advantage (mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, quality). 

  • Experience: Strong in quality management, to a level typically requiring of 3 to 6 years experience, or more. 

  • Experience with standards: Knowledge of ISO 9001 standard, knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 19443 standards is an advantage.

  • Auditing: Experience conducting internal audits or audits at suppliers. 

  • Analysis and problem solving: Knowledge of the methodology for resolving issues and non-conformances (e.g. 5 Whys), or others. 

  • Language skills: English is required at a communicative level (B2/C1), as the company often communicates with foreign customers. 

  • IT skills: Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint)...

  • Autonomy and responsibility: The ability to lead quality on major projects and frameworks, and make decisions. 

  • Communicativeness: The ability to negotiate with both customers, suppliers and collaborate internally. 

  • Analytical thinking: Precision and attention to detail. 

  • Stress resilience: The ability to work under pressure in the event of significant Non-conformances, or crisis situations.

  • Travel: able to undertake business travel e.g. to visit / short duration stay at client site in Slovakia or abroad
