Purpose and Scope:
The Security Forces C4I (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence) Technician is responsible for maintenance of the Security Forces (SF) C4I systems. Manages access and security to equipment, accountability for all computer hardware, radios, installed electronics and any other removable electronic equipment and provides technical expertise on hardware, software and user issues. Stays up to date on maintenance of all electronic upgrades as directed by the USAF. Ensures compliance with Performance Work Statement (PWS) and Amentum ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS).
Principal Accountabilities
Troubleshoot/diagnose/repair complete C4I electronic systems, encompassing Tactical Communication (TACOM), Intelligence, Reconnaissance, Surveillance & Navigation (ISRN) Counter Radio Frequency Warfare (CREW) Improvised Explosive Device (IED) Defeat Systems and wiring.
Follow plans and schedules procedures of C4I preventive maintenance based on manufacturer recommendations.
Perform reconstitution inspection and repair procedures to return equipment to serviceable condition.
Order parts required for mid-level repairs to electronic equipment, radios and other C4I equipment including mounting brackets. and inform Supervision.
Ensures security, limited access and safe storage of C4I equipment and any pilferable items.
Performs inventory/serial number checks as required for accountability for all electronic equipment.
Prepares and inspects assets for shipment by air/sea/surface transportation.
Perform system testing to evaluate performance and functionality.
Informs supervision of any shortfall in training and certifications.
Monitor Vehicle Mechanics work near sensitive electronic equipment and provide over the shoulder training as required to ensure safety and security.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum 2 years field experience as a C4I Senior Electronics Technician and/or Supervisor.
Must be proficient in the use of personal computers and Windows Operating System and Microsoft Office to include as a minimum Power Point, Excel and Word programs.
Extensive Knowledge of industry-standard software and peripherals and a strong working knowledge of PCs, network and communications systems.
Ability to innovate and exercise sound judgment in defining and resolving complex and difficult tasks.
Must possess a valid home country driver's license and ability to obtain host nation driver's license.
May be required to operate material handling equipment.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain Secret Clearance.
Will be required to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) according to prescribed procedures and as required for task being performed.
Physically capable of performing all required duties; capable of lifting/pushing/pulling minimum of 50 lbs.
Strong teamwork and interpersonal communication skills.
Solid analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
Substantial electrical/communications background with a focus on troubleshooting connection issues, connector inspections, and cable testing (copper & fiber).
Experience with Fiber Cable Testing and Repair.
Experience with operation of cable/connector test equipment.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
Associates degree or higher in Computer Science or Information Technology is preferred.
Must be authorized to work in host country.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
OCONUS: Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable. Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
Works in normal office and maintenance shop or warehouse environment and may be required to work outdoors for extended periods.
Will be required to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) according to prescribed procedures and as required for task being performed.
Physically capable of performing all required duties; capable of lifting/pushing/pulling minimum of 50 lbs.
May be exposed to extreme noise from operating equipment.
