Amentum is seeking a Senior Program Manager to provide strategic and operational leadership for our Phased Launch Test Demonstration (PLTD) program. The Senior Program Manager will be responsible for the  end‑to‑end program execution to ensure alignment with contractual, regulatory, safety, quality, and security requirements while delivering on scope, schedule, and budget commitments and will serve as a primary interface to executive leadership and federal customers through clear, executive‑level communications, briefings, and status reporting. This position will also provide oversight of technical integration, engineering design changes, testing, and operational readiness activities, while ensuring rigorous governance, risk management, and compliance in highly regulated environments, driving continuous improvement through performance metrics and data‑driven decision‑making. This is a full-time remote position that will require up to 50% of travel to the customer site and Amentum office locations.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead end‑to‑end program execution for large, complex, and mission‑critical initiatives
  • Manage scope, schedule, cost, risk, and performance across multiple concurrent contracts.
  • Provide administrative and technical leadership in the completion of multiple contracts, including responsibility for cost, schedule and overall performance
  • Plan and procure necessary staffing to achieve work completion milestones and deliverables
  • Monitor fulfillment of contract requirements to ensure quality and timeliness of services/deliverables to various customers
  • Supervise, coordinate, provide leadership to and review the work of assigned staff and/or contracts
  • Interface with customers on a regular basis for support of engineering and program management activities. Monitor customer feedback and advise on a broad range of issues related to products/services being delivered
  • Perform multi-disciplinary analysis of system designs to determine compliance with specifications and standards
  • Direct the investigation and resolution of operational problems in conjunction with other engineering and technical personnel
  • Act as a point-of-contact/representative between government personnel and Amentum management team for all matters related to the assigned contract.
  • Provide management guidance to the workforce in task assignment and performance while maintaining and improving team morale and overall welfare.
  • Participate in business development initiatives to include identifying new business opportunities, developing and implementing strategies, and managing proposal development.
  • Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.

 Minimum Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership, Engineering Management, or a related field and over eight (8) years of related experience OR; a bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline and over twelve (12) years of related experience.
  • Ability to provide management, direction, administration, quality assurance and leadership to effectively execute the objectives
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other integrated software applications.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Please note that US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active US Government Secret Clearance
  • 15+ years of progressive experience leading large, complex programs in defense, nuclear, or similarly regulated environments highly desired
  • Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Prior Project and Program Management experience with successive growth in scope and responsibilities

       

Compensation Details:

$170K - $180K
