Position Overview

The Intelligence & Cyber Cleared Senior Talent Acquisition Lead will provide comprehensive oversight and support for full-cycle recruitment across all Amentum programs in Australia. This role is vital in ensuring the successful sourcing, selection, and onboarding of top talent to meet the organization’s strategic workforce objectives. Partnering with corporate recruitment teams, functional managers, and HR administrators, the Talent Acquisition Lead is instrumental in aligning recruitment strategies with organizational goals.

PURPOSE AND SCOPE

The Talent Acquisition Lead plays a pivotal role in driving Amentum’s talent strategy and ensuring the successful hiring of top talent to support our business objectives in Australia. This role oversees the end-to-end recruitment process, including talent sourcing, candidate assessment, and offer management, while fostering a collaborative relationship with hiring managers, HR administrators, and the broader corporate recruitment teams.

As a trusted recruitment advisor, the Talent Acquisition Lead develops tailored strategies to attract highly skilled US and Australian candidates, ensuring a seamless and positive experience for both candidates and stakeholders. This role also involves analyzing recruitment metrics, identifying and implementing best practices, and continuously refining processes to meet evolving workforce needs.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

The Talent Acquisition Lead will report directly to the Talent Acquisition Operations Manager. The role will also require consistent collaboration and liaison with Human Resources (HR) team to ensure alignment and effective communication regarding program and candidate needs.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Act as a subject matter expert in both US and Australian recruitment processes, providing timely guidance and advice to employees and management.
  • Contribute to the design, enhancement, and implementation of recruitment strategies, policies, and procedures.
  • Oversee HR Information Systems (HRIS) and data management, driving efficiency and ensuring compliance with recruitment-related KPIs.
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate recruitment data to monitor trends and proactively address recruitment pipeline needs.
  • Ensure compliance with DISP accreditation pre-screening requirements.
  • Develop and maintain accurate job descriptions, job ads and organizational structures in collaboration with the HR Administration Team and managers.
  • Manage the recruitment process, including advertisement, screening, interviews, reference checks, and associated administrative tasks.
  • Deliver training to managers on recruitment processes to empower them to make effective hiring decisions.
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental practices while actively promoting a safe workplace culture.
  • Support the development of staffing plans and benefit programs in alignment with strategic objectives.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Deliver Exceptional Recruitment Experience: Ensure a seamless, supportive, and personalized recruitment process to help employees feel welcomed and valued
  • Knowledge of Australian and US Recruitment: Apply knowledge of both Australia and US recruitment practices and processes to effectively source, assess and progress candidates
  • Act as a Primary Liaison: Serve as a trusted point of contact for candidates, providing clear and timely communication to address questions, resolve issues, and provide guidance throughout the recruitment process
  • Foster Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Talent Acquisition, HR teams, and Hiring Managers to coordinate recruitment activities and align processes with program and organizational goals
  • Uphold Data Integrity: Maintain accurate and up-to-date information in relevant systems while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with policies and regulations
  • Proactive Problem Solving: Anticipate and resolve challenges proactively to minimize candidate disruption and create a smooth recruitment journey

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

  • Physical Environment: The Candidate Management Specialist role is primarily desk-based, requiring frequent use of multiple computer systems and platforms. The position involves participating in virtual, phone, and in-person meetings with candidates, cross-functional teams, and vendors. There may also be a need to move and walk around regularly to coordinate in-person interactions and oversee activities related to onboarding and candidate management.

  • Hours & Scheduling: The standard working hours for this role are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, totalling 40 hours per week. Flexible work arrangements are available to accommodate individual needs and organizational requirements. On occasion, there may be a need to work early mornings or late evenings to align with international or U.S. time zones

  • Strong experience with HRIS, MS Office, and recruitment-related systems.
  • Proven ability to design and implement HR or recruitment policies and procedures.
  • Skilled at motivating teams and driving collaboration within multi-functional contexts.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:            

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent demonstrated experience in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3–4 years of experience in human resource management or recruitment.
  • Strong knowledge of recruitment processes, human resources policies, and procedures.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to develop relationships across all organizational levels.

Desired:               

  • Certificate IV in Human Resources and/or Workplace Training and Assessment.
  • CPHR / FCPHR or PHR / SHRM-CP certification.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in Human Resources or a related field.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

It is a condition of employment that the employee maintains adequate medical clearance applicable to this role.

This role generally includes periods of sitting or standing throughout the day, with routine walking, bending, stooping, reaching, kneeling, squatting, lifting of up to 20kg, and other physically demanding tasks associated with the custodial team service delivery requirements.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS

It is a condition of employment at JDFPG that all employees obtain and retain the appropriate level of security clearance applicable to this role. The employee will be required to retain a US Secret or NV1 Australian Department of Defence Security Clearance and may be required to obtain and maintain up to a Top Secret (TS/PV) Australian Department of Defence Security Clearance, or USA Top Secret (TS/SCI) Security Clearance with polygraph.

STATEMENT OF WORK REQUIREMENTS

All personnel assigned to work at JDFPG and associated facilities shall be:

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Able to fluently read, write, and speak the English language

ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH AND SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

All Amentum personnel are responsible for understanding and complying with all site Environmental, Health and Safety requirements (EHS). While Amentum is responsible for providing a safe workplace and is responsible for ensuring compliance with these requirements, each person is responsible for:

  • Completing work tasks in a safe manner to include using the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Red-Carding a Job. Employees have a right and responsibility to “STOP WORK” for themselves or others if a job is unsafe or presents danger to the environment.
  • Reporting any unsafe acts or conditions to their supervisor and/or the program EHS Manager
  • Continuous adherence to the EHS procedures throughout the performance of their work.
