About the Opportunity

Amentum is a key delivery partner within the Decommissioning and Nuclear Waste Partners (DNWP) Framework, a major Sellafield programme worth up to £4.6 billion and running for up to 15 years. The framework is focused on safely accelerating decommissioning, remediation and high hazard risk reduction across one of the most complex nuclear sites in the world.

Our nuclear team supports the front end design, engineering, technical leadership and delivery expertise required across the DNWP portfolio. We are looking for individuals with high value expertise from across regulated and comparable sectors to who can work collaboratively, embrace new challenges and contribute to the mission of safely and efficiently delivering Sellafield’s decommissioning and nuclear waste objectives.

Role Purpose

As a Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) you will be responsible for managing temporary structures on construction sites, ensuring safety, compliance, and effective coordination throughout the project lifecycle.

You will report directly into the Delivery Manager or Framework Manager and conduct work alongside Delivery Leads, Package Managers, Engineers and with support from Administrators.


Employee will be expected to contribute to the delivery of social value in line with the DNWP framework, supporting positive outcomes for local communities. Voluntary engagement is supported, with up to 16 hours per full time equivalent allocated.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement temporary works procedures that align with project requirements.

  • Coordinate with design engineers, contractors, and site teams to ensure all temporary works are designed, verified, and installed correctly.

  • Identify potential risks associated with temporary structures and implement mitigation measures to ensure safety.

  • Ensure all temporary works comply with relevant health and safety regulations and industry standards, such as BS 5975 in the UK.

  • Maintain meticulous records of temporary works designs, inspection reports, and permits to ensure compliance and facilitate audits.

  • Oversee the erection, maintenance, and dismantling of temporary works, performing inspections to ensure adherence to design specifications and safety protocols.

  • Act as the central point of contact for all temporary works-related matters, providing training and briefings to site personnel

Here's What You'll Need 

  • CITB Temporary Works Co-Ordinator Training or Equivalent 

  • Significant experience in the management, coordination and acceptance of all forms of temporary works 

  • Knowledge of the roles within the temporary works process, e.g. designated individual, temp works designer, temp works supervisor, CDM roles, etc.

  • Demonstrable competence in Risk Management and Temporary Works Documentation and Processes

  • Detailed understanding of relevant health and safety regulations and industry standards, such as BS 5975 (parts 1 and 2) in the UK

  • Good knowledge of Interacting Legislation and Guidance – CDM, Working at Heights, LOLER, PUWER, Health and Safety at Work Act

  • Technical Awareness of Temporary Works Design and Engineering Principles

  • Ability to Ensure Safe Implementation on Site and competence in Records Assurance and Compliance

  • Able to communicate information effectively at all levels and prepare clear and thorough reports and any other written information
