BASIC FUNCTION SUMMARY

Performs various routine duties pertaining to ordering, scheduling, shipping, requisitioning, issuing and controlling materials, parts, and tools.  Administers CTK Program.  Maintains Technical Order Library, bench stock, powered and non-powered Aerospace Ground Equipment, and hazardous materials.  Assists in aircraft ground handling using applicable equipment and technical orders.  Performs on and off equipment maintenance as required.  Performs tasks with minimum supervision.  Works for the Lead.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

Issues, inventories, and controls special tools, test equipment, technical data and consolidated tool kits.  Stores, issues and controls hazardous materials required to perform maintenance on assigned HH-60/HH-1 helicopters and support equipment.  Performs maintenance on assigned non-powered aerospace ground equipment required to support maintenance actions.  Schedules, transports, returns test equipment for calibration and performs user maintenance on assigned equipment. Maintains bench stock.  Performs follow-up, pick-up and transport of parts from/to work site.  Processes unserviceable parts.  Maintains tail number bins for assigned helicopters.  Controls, issues and inventories assigned – 21 aircraft equipment.

  • Receives, maintains, and issues hand tools, technical orders, bench stock, hazardous materials and equipment.
  • Administers the Support Section CTK Program to include marking and inspecting tools and tool boxes, controlling and secures replacement tools, and maintaining tool inventories.
  • Maintains supply forms, reconciles supply listings and bench stock inventory and requisitions stock as needed.
  • Orders and routes parts through SBSS and IMDS, including tagging components and moving parts within the work center.
  • Maintains work center technical orders and checklists.
  • Handles and disposes of hazardous materials in accordance with existing MSDS and applicable state and federal guidelines.
  • Practices good housekeeping, tool control, FOD awareness/prevention and safety at all times.
  • Assists in aircraft/equipment movement/ground handling and flight line foreign object prevention walks.
  • Shall perform other job related duties as may be assigned.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

  • Hands-on tool room/support section to include hazardous material management experience desired.
  • Hands-on IMDS/SBSS interface or related computer experience desired. FEDLOG experience is desired.
  • Technical order and publication management experience desired.
  • Must be willing and able to work day shift, night shift or weekends as required.
  • Must be willing and able to deal with the customer and company employees in a courteous, professional and effective manner.
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. 
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. 
  • Must be able to successfully complete the job training within 60 days of hire.
  • Must have a current civilian driver's license, and be able to obtain and maintain a government flight line driver’s license.  A fork lift and 1½  ton stake bed truck license rating is desired.
  • Must have working knowledge of common aircraft hand and special tools.
  • Must be willing and able to work with job related hazardous materials.
  • Must have a working knowledge (read, understand and follow) of aircraft technical orders/job guides/publications.
  • Must have a basic knowledge (input and extract data) of computers.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance. (Position of Trust/Restricted Area Badge)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

Physical Demands:

This classification is usually accomplished in a maintenance hanger-like environment and as such requires the scope of physical movements and postures normally associated with a warehouse activity.  Typical physical activities include climbing, standing, bending, pushing, kneeling, and stretching positions.  May require lifting of objects whose weight normally will not exceed 50 pounds.  Special vision abilities to perform this job are close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust and focus.
