Job Summary

The Business Line VP Business Development is responsible for the Business Development function (marketing, administration, strategic planning and reports, and proposal development and production) for an operating group.

Principal Accountabilities

  • With Business Group SVP Business Development, develops group marketing and growth strategy for domestic and international markets.
  • Executes marketing, business development, and capture plans.
  • Coordinates with business line program leader for business development strategy, program identification, bid and proposal estimates, capture planning, and strategic planning development.
  • Oversees the preparation, submission, and execution of department and Business Line and Proposal budgets.
  • Manages the supervision and work assignments of assigned employees.
  • Directs the proposal development process including policy, preparation, and training requirements.
  • Ensures the timely submission of Business Development reports, and conducts briefings to Business Group SVP Business Development
  • Develops and sustains customer interfaces for new and current programs.
  • Develops relationships with industry partners for potential teaming opportunities to expand group markets.
  • Perform other duties as requested

Knowledge & Skills

  • Must possess extensive experience in Federal marketing and proposal development, and capture management, competitor analysis, personnel management, budget formulation and execution.
  • Must be knowledgeable of DoD and US Government structure and agency acquisition procedures and policies for identifying and developing potential business opportunities.
  • Familiarity with international marketing techniques.

Experience & Education

  • Bachelor's Degree required in Business Management or associated discipline. Master’s Degree desired.
  • Twelve years’ minimum experience in Business Development or Operations, with 8 years in management.

Physical Requirements/Working Environment

Works in a normal office environment with controlled temperature and lighting conditions.

Travel

Minimal degree of domestic and international travel required.
