Amentum, a global leader in advanced engineering, technical, and professional services serving the US government, allies and critical infrastructure sectors, is seeking an Air Terminal Manager to support a government contract based on the island of Diego Garcia.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Air Terminal Manager (ATM) has oversight of all port services associated with site air terminal operations.  Ensures compliance with Performance Work Statement (PWS) and Amentum ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS). The ATM is responsible for the performance of the work in Annex 0501070, Passenger Terminal and Cargo Handling and other areas as assigned.

The Air Terminal Manager will be available within 30 minutes to meet with Government personnel and / or Program leadership as required 24 hours/day, 7 days/week in this role.

PURPOSE / SCOPE

  • Obtain aircraft flight schedules and determine cargo capabilities and cargo load information
  • Process/manifest passengers for air transportation, handle baggage, load/offload aircraft, complete security checks of passengers and baggage
  • Ensures hazardous materials are properly inspected, documented and certified
  • Prepares and handles cargo in accordance with all prescribed regulations, instructions, technical orders and procedures
  • Implements, documents and controls quality, training, environment and safety programs
  • Maintains publications, forms and files required for personnel and freight
  • Compiles data and submits reports and other correspondence as required
  • Utilize Air Terminal computer applications and systems (e.g. GATES, MS products, etc.)
  • Oversee scheduling of personnel / work supervision / quality control; and other duties as assigned, including assisting with recruiting process and HR support as directed
  • Monitoring cost control, financial reports, budgeting, and overall operating costs to increase efficiencies and improve cost effectiveness of Program
  • Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business Administration/Management or Engineering, based on a four year course of study from a United States (U.S.) or United Kingdom (U.K.) accredited college or university or equivalent institution
  • Educational knowledge shall include but is not limited to Department of Defense (DoD), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Naval Air Training and Operating Procedures Standardization Programs (NATOPS), Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), International Civil Air 
    Organization (ICAO) and other applicable laws, Navy regulations, instructions, and directives as they pertain to airfield standards, aircraft operations, and airfield management; airfield security regulations, safety requirements and practices/procedures to ensure all construction, repairs, and operations on the airfield are performed in a safe and secure environment
  • Ten years of experience as a principle supervisor in an air terminal and experience in managing a workforce providing services on contracts of similar size, scope and complexity
  • Experience working simultaneously in a multi-function base operations environment
  • Experiential knowledge shall include but is not limited to operations, practices, and policies of Navy airfield management and supervision to plan, execute and oversee the Airfield Management Division; managing Navy airfield or equivalent airfield operations involving air operations with limited to moderate complexity resulting from multiple runways/helipads, different aircraft types, and/or varying supported command support requirements
  • Three years previous supervisory experience in an austere OCONUS environment with a multi-national workforce
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office products
  • Experience with Air Terminal operations applications, specifically GATES and other systems / programs in standard military installation air terminals
  • Ability and willingness to material handling equipment as needed
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US passport and driver's license throughout employment in this role
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance
  • Ability to successfully pass PACOM medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Country visa (as required in line with the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide)
