We need to have you go through our hiring process to integrate you into Amentum payroll and HR systems.
You may apply for any position which you are qualified for. However, we need you to apply for your current position first. Promotions or position changes will be considered after the transition period.

Once you sign your offer letter, your start date of December 1st with Amentum will be established. You will receive an email from Amentum’s Workday HR System before your first day of employment, providing you with your employee ID number and a temporary password. You will then use these credentials to log into the on-line system and complete onboarding paperwork electronically.
You will need to have access to a computer, smart phone or tablet outside of work hours to review documents and complete information for the onboarding process. These actions cannot be completed at the worksite, so please plan accordingly to ensure you have time to complete the new hire process.
In the Workday HR System, you will have an “Inbox” which will populate with one action at a time. You will review and acknowledge several policies and procedures, update / add personal and emergency contact information. This part of the onboarding process can take as little as 15 minutes.
You will receive a separate email telling you how to enroll in ADP’s system. In the ADP system is where you will upload federal and state tax forms and lastly enroll in direct deposit which will require you to input your routing number and account number for each account you want to add to your direct deposit. The part of the onboarding in ADP shouldn’t take more than 10 minutes to complete if you have your bank information and know what you want to do with the W4 online.
Your offer letter will contain an anticipated start date for your employment with Amentum for December 1, 2024. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of background check, drug screen, and all pre-hire paperwork.
You will be eligible for Amentum benefits on your date of hire. You have thirty (30) days from your date of hire to enroll in benefits. Your coverage and payroll deductions will be retroactive to your date of hire. If you do not make elections within 30 days of your hire date for your 2024 benefits, you (and your eligible dependents) will not be covered for the remainder of 2024 unless you experience a qualifying Life Changing Event, (e.g., birth of a child, marriage, divorce, or other qualifying event).
PLEASE NOTE - As the company will be going through Open Enrollment at your time of hire, you will be required to enroll in your 2025 benefits at the same time you enroll for coverage for the remainder of 2024.
Full-Time employees have the option of enrolling yourself and your eligible dependents in medical, dental and/or vision benefits. Eligible dependents include your: Spouse and Child(ren) up to age 26 regardless of marital or student status. Unmarried child(ren) of any age who are incapable of supporting themselves due to a mental or physical disability and who are totally dependent on you.
Benefits at a Glance (BAAG) handouts will be distributed. These will provide you with a high-level overview of your Amentum benefits. Your personalized benefits and costs will be available to you by logging into www.oneamentumbenefits.com at enrollment time so you can make an informed decision regarding plans offered and costs.
If a new hire elects to participate with our benefits, there is no waiting period. New hires must enroll within the first 30 days of employment.
You are immediately eligible to participate in 401(k) with no waiting period. Enrollment is generally available two weeks following your hire date. You may elect to contribute a whole-percentage of your eligible compensation on a pre-tax, Roth, or After-tax basis. IRS limits apply. If age 50 or older, you may also make a pre-tax and/or Roth deferral catch-up election. The catch-up election must also be a whole-percentage and is deducted concurrently with your regular election. All deductions are automatically stopped when applicable annual IRS limits are reached.
Exempt employees will accrue paid time off (PTO) on a weekly basis according to Amentum contract requirements. For incumbents that are exempt employees, Amentum will honor previous service credit in support of onsite NASA Ames continuous service. The PTO accrual amounts will be provided to you later with your new hire documents.
Amentum employees will follow the government 11-day holiday schedule.
If your supervisor has already approved time off for you for after December 1, 2024 we will honor that request.
Based on a December 1st start date, the first paycheck with Amentum will be issued on December 20, 2024. This paycheck will be for hours worked from December 1 – December 13th. After this paycheck your next paycheck will be issued on January 3, 2025, for hours worked from Saturday, December 14th – Friday, December 27th (2 pay weeks).
Employees are paid biweekly on Friday. There are 26 pay periods in a calendar year. Pay weeks start on a Saturday and end on a Friday.
Once enrolled in direct deposit, your paycheck will be automatically deposited into the bank account(s) of your choice. Your pay statement will be viewable online on ADP Portal. This site will also house your 2024 W2 tax statement.
